Got my poll in, I think there will be a little surprise with one team that will be getting a vote this week.

I dare say that will be their only vote!  But they do have a pretty gaudy record; real hard to evaluate with a schedule like that!

Knightstalker

They have beaten almost every team including WPU.  I think they are a team that will slip under everyones radar if they make the tournament and could cause problems for some teams.

I'm not sure if your speaking of Baruch or not, but I did consider them for a while.

Baruch picked up 2 points in the "real" poll, which is either a vote for 24th or two votes for 25th.  It's the first time Baruch has received points since week 8 of 2002-03.

Knightstalker

That answered that question.  I quess Baruch has made a poll appearance before.

If by "poll appearance" you mean "received votes," then yes, they received votes in weeks 6-8 of 2002-03.  This week's poll is the 4th time they've received votes.  Their high-water mark was 13 votes in the week 8 poll of that season.  But I'd take "poll appearance" to mean "ranked," and no, they've never cracked the top 25.  No CUNYAC team has ever been ranked.

Mr. Ypsi

Only 7 ballots received so far.  I'll accept them until 8 (ET).

Mr. Ypsi

Only 45 minutes to go - come on guys, we're still at only 7 ballots!

I have higher standards than the coaches' poll - I'd be embarassed to release a poll with seven voters! ;) ;D

Mr. Ypsi

Thanks to formerbant10, we are now up to 8 voters, but where are you, GS, PS, titanfan (and you, too, witt4ever - you're still welcome)?

In hopes of a higher turnout, I'm exercising my perogotive as poll compiler to extend the polls one extra hour. ;D

Mr. Ypsi

Hadn't checked my email recently enough - we're at nine (thanks titanfan).

Mr. Ypsi

This week's statistical anomaly:

Last week I noted that Wartburg was #9 despite NO ONE voting them higher than 10th (it was their consistency of ALL votes between 10 and 16).  This week they had an equally consistent voting record, with the range raised at both ends by 2 (ALL votes between 8 and 14), yet they fell from 9 to 10!

Lesson #2: poll rankings are only PARTLY due to what you do; it also matters what those around you do!

I think we've got a good representation of teams and just a couple of anomalys. Ah, well.
