Actually didn't take as long as I thought! There are 18 teams who have won at least a game 3 times in the Big Dance during the last 5 seasons, AMC being one of them. Full List -

Albertus
Amherst
Carbrini
Franklin & Marshall
Illinois Wesleyan
Middlebury
Randolph Macon
RIC
St. Mary's MD
St. Thomas
Stevens Point
UW White
Virginia Wesleyan
Wash U
Wheaton
Whitworth
Williams
Wooster

May have made a mistake or 2 in the 15 minutes  :D There were also 21 other teams with 2 wins in the same time frame.

You should have asked specifically.  I keep a spreadsheet with the teams that have won at least one game in the tournament all the way back to the beginning of d3.  Wouldn't have taken me long at all to look up.

You did get all the teams right.  For what it's worth, Wooster and Whitworth are tied for the longest active streak: six straight years with an NCAA tournament win.

Chapman is 20th. It's not always the bad losses...sweeping CMS and beating Whittier Whitman that just beat slaughtered Whitworth helps a ton.

It also may be overstated since Massey counts their UC Irvine game. Since UC Irvine counted it. Yeah...I hate that NCAA rule.

Beating Whitman was their one really impressive win; Whittier, not so much! ;D

Sorry for the confusion. Whit, whit, whit...

Yeah, some people pick nits; me, I'm a whit-picker! ;D

(Also, I sense you value CMS more highly than I do.)

Just calculated Magicman's poll that he sent to me this morning and here are the changes in the current poll:

#'s 1 to #3 remain unchanged.
Randolph-Macon and Dickinson are now tied for 4th
Wash U jumped Albertus in the updated poll so now Wash U is #10 and AMC is #11
Stevens Point jumped Richard Stockton so now SP is #12 and Richie Stockton falls to #13
Emory jumped both WPI and Franklin & Marshall, but WPI held off F&M so that leaves Emory #14, WPI #15 and F&M #16.
St. Olaf jumped both Whitworth & Elmhurst and Whitworth jumped Elmhurst, so that leaves St. Olaf #19, Whitworth #20 and Elmhurst #21
Chapman bumped Case, so now Chapman is #24 and Case Western occupies the last spot at #25.

Outside of the top 25:
Eastern jumped Sir William Patterson, so the Warriors are now #27 while the Pioneers fall to #28
North Central is now tied for #33 with Hope.

So I wonder if I had sent in this bracket to Mr. Ypsi, if he would've declined it??  Are you allowed to decline yourself??

Can someone explain to me why everyone is so high on Albertus Magnus (not just here but the d3h poll as well)? Who have they beaten? Seems like every year they get by with an easy non-conference schedule, rise up through the rankings as they keep beating weak teams while others lose, then fall on their face in the tournament. If it was a one time scheduling thing I could understand, but it seems like it's every year with them. Until they actually beat someone they won't be making my top 25.

They got to the sweet sixteen last yr, that falling flat on their face? lol weird perspective to me

GnacBballFan

FC Grizz, you feel to say how they have fallen flat on their faces in the tourney. please do tell how thats the case. You asked why everyone is so high on them, now you got your answer. Its a rather simple one at that. return 4 starters from a sweet 16 team, bring in a legit d1 transfer, and there you have it. I think if their starting PG didn't miss the majority of the second half against stockton, they'd be undefeated right now.

*missed the whole second half. played all of 10 mins. left with an injury. if thats a weakness that can derail albertus, their depth. their bench is strong, but no where near the talent of the starting 5. interesting to see how they play saturday, down two starting guards

Are you talking about Davis?  He did nothing but hurt the team in that game.  He came out because he was playing so poorly and a couple bad calls got in his head.  They might have won if he'd played less in that one.  Also, Sledge was actually the starting PG - Davis definitely the 2 - not sure if it changed since then, but it was certainly true then.

Hoops, he played awful those 10 mins, but from what I was told he never came back be used he was poked in the eye pretty badly. Oliver is known to pull players if they are playing bad, very quickly. However, I have never seen a star player, Davis in this case, get pulled all of 10 mins and not return bc of the game they were having. That was early on in the year, while sledge occasionally runs the 1, Davis is their starting pg

It was a rough game overall.  One of the reasons I'm so high on Albertus is because I feel like that was close to their worst game - and they still looked darn impressive.  It was, what, game two, maybe, with a pretty big new piece coming in.  Chemistry was bad.  Davis didn't know where he fit, plus he was in foul trouble from the tip.  The eye thing was unfortunate, but he was on the bench ready to go the whole second half.

It is what it is.  Overcoming those problems and incorporating three scorers into the team is a testament to those guys.  I can't wait to see them in the tournament - I'm secretly hoping they get shipped down this way - because I think they'll look completely different than they did.

I root for teams to excel.  I like seeing good basketball no matter who it's from.  I have a lot of hope they'll put together some magical game (a la Williams against Amherst in Salem last year), because it's just fun to watch.

After all the losses this week, I went back to the beginning again and started over.  Some teams moved a lot, but I was happy I had a good number in the right places all along.

I did mine earlier and outside of 3 or 4 that were more than 5 spots off, we generally had the same teams right around the same area.  I thought I was going to be completely off board this week.
