The consensus is boring, like the middle of the road. Be like Neil Young, and hang out in the ditch - it's more interesting there!

Gentlemen,

Sorry about not getting a poll in this week.  Got snowed in at Trinity and spent most of Monday shoveling my car out of 30 inches of snow.

I'll be back for next week for sure.

You're gonna use a mere 30 inches of snow as an excuse?!  Hey, I'm from Illinois and Michigan - we call that a 'dusting'! ;D

Well, OK, I guess I am exaggerating - sounds like an excuse to me!

Comments on how your votes might have changed the poll?

I think that 30 inches of snow takes me back to 1988, an inch here, and inch there. ::) :P :-\ ;)

My appologies for completely forgetting to send in my poll.  No snow to blame it on - just simple forgetfullness   :-[ :-[ :-[

My votes would have had little impact - I had Albion, IWU, and Calvin a spot or two lower than where they are, and the others shifted up.  I did not have Elmhurst included but did have Trinity (TX) at 25

Actually, I need Sul Ross State to complete the "Tri-fecta" on HPU in Alpine this evening. That would put HPU back into a tie with McMurry. ;)

SRSU 89, Howard Payne 82.  My trifecta is complete!

McMurry and Howard Payne are in a tie for 1st in the ASC-West.

This is truly a work of diabolical genius; you also somehow jinxed UCONN last night as well.

I sure hope Lawrence plays Wooster at some point in the tournament so I can just rub it in to all of you.  That's the joy of picking the underdog.  It's great when you're right and the other guy can't get to excited for winning a game they were supposed to win.

Nah, that's the price they pay for playing a NESCAC-like non-conference schedule. I'm shocked they don't try to get Elms and Endicott to play them!  ;D

I heard they wanted to schedule Trinity, but they were too afraid UCONN would offer Rhoten a scholarship and refused.

Was Rhoten's scholarship offer for football or basketball?

Mr. Ypsi

Just got a chance to compare the d3hoops.com poll with the PP - I think it is the first week where ALL 25 are the same!  (And 12 teams in the exact same spots, including the first 5.)

The only major differences were we had Calvin 13 to their 19, Wartburg 17 to their 22, and C Mellon 16 to their 20; they had Stout 13 to our 20, and Puget Sound 17 to our 21 - all other differences were three or less.

In the top twelve the ONLY difference was they had York 6th, while we had them 9th (thus the 3 'A' teams all got shifted one spot).  [And our 7-9 teams were virtually interchangeable - so close that a single additional ballot could have completely reshuffled them.]

Good work Ypsi!

I had Randolph-Macon 24th and North Central down to 25th, with Whitewater and (finally) Lincoln in the polls.  I left out Elmhurst.

I had Calvin in the same spot as the d3hoops poll (19th), Wartburg really high (13th, due to everyone else losing, basically), Carnegie Mellon 20th (same as d3hoops), Stout in the middle (17th), and UPS at 18 (dropping 9 spots).

No love or room for WPI (and they were by boys in the survivor pool) as I dropped them out from 12th.

Crazily enough, my poll matched the official d3 hoops poll an astounding four times.

We both had Augie and IWU at 9 and 10 repsectively, both had VA Wesleyan at #12 and both had Oxy at #15.  I had Carnegie Mellon one higher than the official poll and Whitewater one spot lower.

I'm rather concerned at my sudden orthodoxy.

With a SOS so low, why does Oxy get so much love?  I think they are very good, but that seems strange....
