Time to bring this back from page 2! ;)

The Posters' Poll for this season will commence after games of January 9th.  As always, polls are based on games thru Sunday, with ballots expected by Tuesday evening.  PM your 1-25 ballot to 'Mr. Ypsi'.

I hope there will be plenty of voters to keep me hoppin'!  And it is not too soon to start paying attention to the national scene if you are interested in joining us.

[Reminder: this is in no way intended as competition for the official d3hoops.com poll.  I won't ever post results before Pat's poll comes out by way of respect, and would appreciate if ballots were submitted before a voter has seen the 'real' poll.  Much of the enjoyment, as well as edification, is in seeing how we differ and trying to figure out why we think team X is over- or under-rated!]

I'll do it again. Always fun and you do a great job running it Chuck.

Won't the poll commence after games of Jan. 10th? That's a Sunday. ???

That's still after the 9th.  ;)

Nice catch, magicman - you'd think after 61 years I'd be able to remember that the S at the end of the week is Saturday, not Sunday! :P

The poll will commence with games thru 1-10.

Thanks, knightslappy - I guess I was technically not incorrect! ;D

I don't think that it effects his sensitivity but it probably effects the specificity and maybe the mode and standard deviation.  ;)

Just wanted to get this board near the top of the page as the 1st poll is due after next Sunday. How many pollsters do we have so far Mr. Y?

I haven't heard anything that you haven't read here.  I'll send out 'recruiting' PMs this week to all those who ever have participated who haven't already announced their intentions on this board.

I'll be working on my poll this weekend representing the South and the SCAC in particular.

Having recently retired I find myself with plenty of time to participate in this endeavor. Unless of course the weather up here in central Wisconsin freezes my keyboard and email.

It ain't no picnic in the south today either!  Looking for a warm basketball venue right now.

I was on the gulf coast in Alabama last November, it was about 58 degrees at 8 am and I was dressed in shorts and long sleeve t-shirt..........the local woman next to me got out of her car with a winter parka, gloves and wool hat on.

I went swimming in the gulf later that day.........which only proves cold is relative, and so is sanity. :)

I'm a Michigander, and even I was amazed when on about a 55-degree day in September I saw several people swimming in the northernmost tip of Lake Michigan (PEAK temperature is about 65 degrees - I doubt it was peak temperature :P).

I know for a fact that people were swimming in Stevens Point and Chicago... but I'm not sure if it will continue.  I heard somewhere that Polar Bears are going extinct...
