The official poll is out now.  There are only three teams I didn't name in my poll and all three of the ones I replaced them with are in the top 6 of ORV.  I feel like I'm either selling out or right on the mark.  Not sure which.

This disappoints me, for some reason.

Can we at least hope that you'll live up to your Captain Outlier moniker by bending the curve in terms of team placement within the Top 25?

Mr. Ypsi

We have a new record - 13 ballots!  Any more in the pipeline?

I'll hold off until 6 (est), or later if someone needs time.

Mr. Ypsi

I've just received a PM from a voter/poster asking me to list all the voters.  Since there was no request to broach confidentiality in terms of HOW they voted, I'm tempted to comply, but wanted to give voters the opportunity to opt out if you so choose.  If any voter does NOT want to be identified as a voter, PM me.

While HOW you voted remains entirely your call on whether to 'own up', I can't come up with a compelling reason to hide WHO votes (by poster handle only).  Pat doesn't reveal the identity of d3hoops.com voters, but I don't think we are in quite the same situation! ;)

If anyone does NOT wish to be identified, PM me.  Otherwise I'll post the list tomorrow evening.

4 ODAC teams in the top 8 is wrong, but I just have a general angst against that sort of thing.

sac

No love for the OAC either.

But at least it wasn't the CCIW - eh, sac! ;D

I confess, all 4 ODAC teams in the top 8 on my ballot - until Bridgewater (ODAC) beat EMU, none of the four had ever lost to a d3 team. :o

For the record, IWU was the same place on my ballot as in the final PP poll (though I had #23 Carthage at #21, but I am NOT the vote for Wheaton) - no home cookin' here! :D

Even though this was my first time voter, long time reader, I would think it would be good to get some insight on some posters picks.  For example, I am curious on picks for MIT considering they have a range from 6 to 20 & Chapman, 9 to not being rated (I was the one who didn't rank them)?

I'm luke warm on both, and I'm on the low end of the spectrum for both.   Northeast and far western teams are always difficult to gauge for me.

They are hard for me to judge also.

The Northeast has been a relatively weak region outside the NESCAC.  The OWP numbers are buoyed by great records on very average teams, IMHO.

The far west teams usually have to go thru the bracket of death and so really good teams fly 1500 miles and two time zones east to play against the hometown team.  That is not a fair comparison.  I cannot find more than 20 teams that I really feel good about.

The Mid-Atlantic teams are have not been strong recently either.

I can see the ODAC having one of those magical seasons.  The ASC and SCAC are not strong enough to have a breakout team to cut into the Pool C calculations either.  ODAC teams will be coming up at the table in rapid succession.  I predict 2 Pool C bids from the ODAC this year.

Agreed.  Though unless one of them falls apart in the next month, they may well deserve THREE Pool C bids.
