What about coaches with significant tournament experience and success?  I think that is pretty big factor, perhaps as much as players.

Tell that to G-Rob over at F&M. ;) Four trips to the Final Four, zero national championships. Or tell it to the coaches at Salem State, Maryville, and Christopher Newport who made all of those dance appearances and almost never made any headway once the tournament actually started every year.

I don't think that the tournament experience of the particular coaches involved is a big enough factor to be measured in polling.

Ok, I'm really going to screw up the curve this week.  I've just given up.  There are five teams at the top of my list (Williams, WashU, Guilford, St. Thomas, and Point) whom I would give a split #1 to if Ypsi would let me.

After that, there are nine teams I have varying levels of confidence in, but who seem to have shown their mettle against good competition.

From there I'm just going to be completely subjective and choose teams who seems to be playing well right now or who have put together a good run.

If there are any more losses tonight, I swear I'm voting for Hanover at #25.

Three hours later and nearly everything in this post is obsolete.  Crazy.  Hanover may still end up with one point, though.

Hanover winning 9 in a row in what I feel to be an above average conference is worthy.  They are a very dangerous team with some.

You're right; it's not crazy enough.  If Brandeis loses tomorrow I'm having a coin flip between Oneonta State and SUNYIT.  Maybe even if Brandeis wins.

Do you have a favorite coin that you use when you resort to coin flips?   :D

This year, I think the coin has about 15 sides.

My ballot is in.  I cannot remember a time I've so looked forward to all these conference tournaments with the hope that they might actually sort things out rather than mess things up.

Or, like me, you just deal with whatever the Lords of Sport bring ya. No angst here if my #1-10 goes down. Happens.

My ballot is in and this was a difficult week for me again.

I'm predicting at least three orphans for me this week and perhaps double digit outliers.

I am really looking forward to the tournament (although not to picking a bracket for the pool).

With 7 ballots in, you're sitting currently with 3 orphans (and one more picked by only 1 other), though I suspect you'll end with only one orphan.  Other than orphans (who knows whether they are double-digit outliers?!), you have no outliers in double-digits (though your #15 team is so far an orphan, so that would definitely be double-digits if no one else names them).

I meant not how far an outlier, but how many teams for which my vote is singularly high or low.
