I need some help with Lake Forest.

Are they as good as the Lawrence teams of the last decade?

I've not seen them, and don't follow the MWC particularly closely, but my impression would be that they do not match the 2006 Lawrence team (undefeated until my Titans took them down in the tourney on the way to the FF ;D).  They seemingly may match up well with other groups of Larries - Saturday (hosting Grinnell) may be key to deciding that.

I've seen the Foresters live this season on one occasion. No, they aren't quite as good as the Braier-era Lawrence teams. But they are pretty good.  I'd say that they're probably somewhere in the #30 to #40 range.

Lake Forest is #6 in Massey with a #20 SOS. I think that may stem from they have played anyone heinously ghastly (3-14 teams are bad, not egregiously bad, though) and beating decent Ripon and St. Norbert teams on the road.

I think Massey overstates them a bit but they're not chicken feed.

They've got some work to do in the NCAA tournament before they can match those Lawrence teams...

I should hop over and see 'em... I live just down the road after all!

NCAC eating its own:

Witt beats DePauw 66-62.
Wooster takes care of Kenyon 78-68.
OWU nips Wabash 66-64.

Witt now has a two-game conference league. Out of DPU, Wooster, Wabash and OWU - one of those teams will be on the road for first round NCAC tourney play.

......and playing one of those other 3 teams.   :-\

Sent my poll in.  Taking some fliers on teams with good records and poor schedules near the bottom.

I wanted to vote for Grinnell, but they ended up #26 - just couldn't get them in.

I hope to get mine in tonight. I have a week long set of multiple conference calls with our client, so my brain may be fried...

With our group, who would notice the difference?! ;D

Mr. Ypsi

With about 22 hours left, I'm far from panic mode.  But I am concerned.  We have only 6 ballots so far, I've heard from one regular who's computer went kablooey (killing his data) who won't be voting this week, and there are two voters I always get ballots from by now who are not on the list.

EVERYONE, get those ballots in!

Mr. Ypsi

NOW I'm getting worried.  Still just six ballots, when we usually have 8 or 9.

Remember, tomorrow is my bowling league - I can't harangue you again until 4 or so!  I don't have all that much hair left, so make sure by 4 I have 3-4 more ballots so I don't pull out 'The Few, The Proud' the remaining hairs! ;D

Mr. Ypsi

I retract the previous post: I'm betting there are voters who would withhold their ballots just to see me go bald! 8-)  Get 'em in just because it's the right thing to do. :P

Mr. Ypsi

We are now up to 9 (w/ c. 3 hours to go), but that is still 3 short of what I expect (and 5-6 short of what I wish we'd get).

As always, if a deadline extension would help, just let me know.
