Honestly it will probably take quite a bit for me to not vote St. Thomas #1.  I win Mr. Outlier this week. :)

Calvin at seven?

50-50 chance I vote for St. Thomas again next week.

Me too ... in another poll but same for me.

Pat, of the top ten most frequent posters, six are current voters, and Gregory Sager and KnightStalker have voted in the past.  That leaves only you and Titan Q - you are both invited to submit ballots! ;)

Mr. Ypsi

We're movin' the right direction: 9 voters the first week, 10 last week, 11 this week!  While placement for many teams was all over the place, we had only 36 teams named, and nearly all of the non-top 25 teams received multiple votes (only two orphans, and two 2-vote teams, in the whole lot).  We don't agree (thankfully!) on a top 25, but we seem to be pretty centered on a top 32-36.  THIS week, anyway!

Re: St. Thomas.  I didn't say they necessarily wouldn't still be #1 next week, but I feel safe in saying that, even if they are, it won't be unanimous.  I won't guarantee it, since I don't know how this week will go, how others will vote, or even how I will vote.  But Rochester was pretty close to unanimous at #2 and is (so far) undefeated.  #3 NCC faces TWO top 25 teams this week - win 'em both and they probably have my vote.  Former #3 (now #4 by one vote) Whitworth is still cruising along.  AND Williams also faces two top 25 teams this week.

This week is almost guaranteed to be the big shake-out week of the PP season - can't wait!

The Calvin team I saw last Wed. is a top 10 team.  Call it a respect vote.

Greek Tragedy

Where did you have Calvin slotted last week?

I thought seeing Whitworh and Stevens Point at17 and 16 was interesting. Seeing Hamp- Syd voted 4th stood out as well, especially since 5 other voters didnt even have them ranked.

I'm just not as enamored with Whitworth as others.
This was the first poll I've done, so there will be adjustments next week.

Mr. Ypsi

We started at a record pace - 3 ballots before 6pm Sunday!

Since then, nothing but crickets. :P

(Actually, I lied - we got 3 inches of snow tonight - not even crickets! ;))

Greek Tragedy

We had 3 inches of snow too. Then I had to shovel it rain, thunder and lightning!

Putting the poll together this week was actually fun.  With so many teams losing, it's actually making it a bit easier to choose among them.

I left St. Thomas #1 and put Rochester #2.  I like the Rochester team all around.  I think they're fantastic, but I'm going to wait until they go to Brandeis next week before giving them the full vote of confidence.

Similarly, I have IWU at #10.  I think they might be even better than that, but I want to see them go to Augustana this week.  Road performances against good teams mean a lot.

Also, I didn't punish North Central as much as I'd like or as much as they deserve given the product on the floor.  Those were two tough road losses and the team's banged up.  I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and waiting to see if they return to form or continue to tail off.

Going to Williams and only losing by one actually improved Middlebury's case in my eyes.

It should be a fun final month.

Mr. Ypsi

A flurry of returns early today brought us to six, but been stalled for several hours now.  We've increased voter numbers each week so far (9, then 10, then 11) - let's keep it up!

Mr. Ypsi

And WHILE I was typing the last post, #7 came in!  Thanks sac.

Patience, grasshopper.  I have a 2-year old to deal with, along with a wife that just got a cortisone shot in her back.  I have double duty for two days.  I'm working on it and should be out to you this evening.

You people with one child have it easy, I tell ya what.

I'll have mine done later tonight after the twins are asleep and after my wife leaves for her small group.

Mine was one of the first three, and finished before the official Top 25 came out.  I like how I had voted the previous week, so there was not much carnage to my poll. I have a few teams that are somewhat "different" from the rankings in the Official Top 25, but have 23 of the Top 26 on my ballot, and the other 3 were on my watch list..

In this part of the country, UMHB is doing what it needs to do to win the ASC.  They need to beat Concordia and HSU this week on the road.  Winning both of those games (on the road) will justify a Top 25 vote, IMHO.

Mr. Ypsi

UMHB looks like they will already be in the Top 25 in our poll (6 of 7 mentions so far, though 4 of them in the 20s).

A FEW positionss pretty well set, but LOTS of slots still up for grabs by later voters.
