Ralph, and that would be our Calvin voter - must be an MIAA thing for the ODAC!

I've been pumping the ODAC for years, but soured a bit after Guilford went south recently. I probably have HSC too low at 19th - if I'd flip-flopped them and CNU I could have resolved that whole 3-way tie at 16th!

(Of course, a 12th voter also would have done it - Charles? Or even better - Algernon? [an ODAC poster])

It looks like I overvalued the CCIW. It was hard for me to drop NCC too far, and in fact, I didn't drop them at all from my previous poll. They lost two games on the road to ranked conference opponents. I guess I just didn't see my next four teams, St. Pt., Whitworth, Wooster or WPI deserving to jump over NCC. Point was the only one to play a ranked opponent, and that's why I jumped them over Whitworth, even though they didn't lose.

I had Wheaton jump from #16 last week to #12 this week on their win against NCC. I guess I value wins over ranked opponents over just wins. Is that a fault, I don't know. Same goes for, obviously, losing to ranked opponents. I only dropped Williams two spots after their loss at Amherst, who, ironically, finally made it into MY poll for the first time. I suppose that's why I kept Brandeis in the mix, losing @ Emory and then at @ #2 Rochester. I saw no reason to drop Stout from #25, so I moved them up when I added Amherst and RIC.

When figuring out teams close to each other, I did use SOS. I guess that's why I still have Stout in there and Brandeis and why I'm not sold on the NESCAC teams. That would probably also explain why I have the CCIW teams so high, their high SOS.

And trust me, there are probably teams in spots where I couldn't tell you why I have them there!

22 of my top 25 are in the overall 25 here, and none of my other three are outliers. Frankly, most anyone below my top 15 could be either ranked 16-25 or 26-50 depending on the mood, how they've recently played, etc.

I've seen Brandeis in person, and I can attest that the Judges are a legit Top 25 team -- if Boston College transfer Gabriel Moten is healthy.

I have put an asterisk by the votes where I am on a unique extreme position.

I could have flipped Whitworth and St Thomas and removed 2 of those asterisks, but I don't see much difference between those 2 teams anyway! We may get to see them in the Elite 8! Number one should always win every game while they in the top spot (unless they beat #2 in baseball 2 games out of 3 on a weekend!)

I am wondering if I have let Ramapo float too high. The Roadrunners just keep winning.

I could not drop Wash U too much for their losses compared to the rest of the field and against the rest of the contenders in the mid-teens. I think that they have played a tougher schedule to date. I tend to cut the UAA teams some slack by late January. Brandeis is on my watch list.

I almost left OWU off the ballot, but I was not ready to put anyone else into the Top 25. Transy is on my watch list. They host RHIT on Saturday.

Maybe it is the Heisenburg Principle of Uncertainty. Regardless of what you thought you voted, it came up "7"!

While I typed the 8s in as 7s, I've now triple-checked the scoring, and that is correct (the original posting has been corrected). If anyone else notices an error, PLEASE let me know.

I've never claimed perfection, but I do try for accuracy!

Wooster was the other error - again score was correct, but specific votes were wrong. FCGriz, it was worse than you thought; before corrections there were FIFTEEN #7 votes posted - that key seems to draw my fingers inexorably!
