I didn't put Baruch on my list, but I thought seriously about it.  The reason I didn't was because I thought there were quite a few teams in the Midwest and WIAC that had worse records with a better team.  However, Baruch has earned the record they have and with the way the tournament gets set up, they have as good a chance to get to the final four as anyone out there.

I think it was smed who put them in because of the computer correlations he uses.  I wonder more if Knightstalker has seen them play or could give us an idea of their ability from first-hand knowledge.

No, I didn't have Baruch on there. Last week I had Loras, but they lost. The last time I did my power ratings Baruch was #86 (I'll revise them tomorrow).  Except for my Lincoln love, I was pretty standard and had to UW schools in there and left out Carroll (which shall return next week as someone will no doubt lose.)

I put Baruch in, I already had two WIAC teams in my top 25.  I knew they would not get much consideration but they are from the region I am in and after their win over WPU I thought they deserved a vote.

Right, I misread your post; you were talking about lincoln.  It must have been knightstalker then.  i'm sure he's got a good reason.

I'll buy that, even though I didn't agree.

For the record, Lincoln wasn't cool enough to be in my poll.  I had Elmhurst.

Does a team deserve to drop even if they lost to a team you expected them to lose to?

In my opinion, it depends on how bad they lose and also what teams around them do.  If teams around them all win, they'd drop a little.

hoopsfan--by shakeup I don't mean a complete top to bottom shakeup of my top 10.  But I see no scenario's that are going to keep my top 6 in the same order.  Someone's going to drop, someone might move up on their own.

I might end up with the same exact top 6 but in a different order...........and with only 10 voters, thats a significant shakeup.

Cool.  I'm just interested in other people's thought processes in voting and polls and such.

My top 27 matched the PP top 27 - I had #26 Bates at 21, and #27 Elmhurst at 19.  I really WANTED to include both Carroll and Lincoln (and Calvin and another WIAC, though not sure which one), but couldn't find room.

As I posted just seconds ago on the top 25 board, with apologies to Oldsmobile, "this is not your father's Tri-State".  No one will mistake them for a top 25 team, but they've gone and become a downright respectable team!  Nevertheless, that will hurt Albion, and if they lose again on Saturday it will probably cost them a top ten spot (I don't think JUST a loss to Hope would have done that).

A top 10 spot, maybe, but nothing in terms of tourney status.

Right.  I didn't specifically check, but I would certainly assume they are safe as a C if they don't take the A.  But I would assume they are pretty gung-ho on the CONFERENCE title before they worry about Salem.
