I'm in.  Can't wait to be vindicated once again for leaving a consensus top 10 team off my ballot only to have them lose mightily down the stretch.

Careful, Hoops, these things can go in cycles.  This year you'll probably never cast a vote all season for the eventual national champion! ;)

Reminder to all that this year's first Posters' Poll entries are due by 8pm Mon (EST), for games through Sunday, the 7th.  Saturday looks like it could be a real shake-up day, and Sunday has more games of likely interest than usual, so we may not be able to pick on Sat then tweak on Sun!  (Though I suspect the top 15-20 will already be set by Saturday night.)

I hope that all 12 who participated last year will join in again (most have already responded that they will), and we're certainly open to new pollsters.  If you, or some poster you know is a follower of d3 on a national level, please join us and pass the word!

Poll picks may be submitted to cabonney@netscape.net, but the preferred route is the PM feature on this site (send to Mr. Ypsi).

Three ballots received so far, and not nearly AS chaotic as I anticipated.  22 schools were named on all three ballots (sometimes very close, sometimes not); of course, the other 9 possible picks received 7 different names!

My 'homer' rep lies in tatters (RIP! ;D).  Neither of the other pickers was from the CCIW, but one named 6 teams, one five, I had four; furthermore, both of them listed IWU, I did not! :o

I think that your poll will be quite instructive as to what the country is thinking in the middle.  I will bet that the top is relatively stable with its own range of rankings.

It is the mid range of the poll that interests me.

this poll is so hard to do.  I can't find more than 5 or 6 teams who deserve to be in the top ten.

Ok.  I've got my top ten done.  I voted four teams in a tie for 7th place, but it's done.

I consider it a starting off point.  I actually found the last 10 or so spots pretty hard to fill and even harder to put in any order that made sense. :-\

There does seem to be a lack of outstanding teams at this point, or least those that have been tested.

Exactly.  None of the three undefeated have a 'signature' win (Whitworth has Wheaton, Bates has nobody, Amherst looked like they had it with Brandeis, until they went 0-for-the-weekend, and Williams normally would be but they are 6-6).  That applies also to a lot of the one and two loss teams.

Maybe it has always been this way, but it seems more so this year.  I wrestled with EVERY spot from 2-25 (and beyond).

Last night I posted that the first three ballots indicated a lot less chaos than I expected; the next three have made up for it!  There are now only 16 teams named on all 6 ballots, and 39 teams have been named at least once.  I eagerly await the next three (six? more?) ballots to either clarify the situation or make me bone up on 'chaos theory'!

Sorry to screw it up for you Ypsi, but I tried to do it totally on my own without using the d3hoops.com poll as a reference.  I don't even know how much I deviated, but I'm guessing it was a lot.

Brandeis is just frustrating me.  They've had this talented team for three years know that has done progressively better and better in the non-conference only to get mauled when they go on the road for UAA games.  I still think they are among the two or three best teams in the UAA, but they just refuse to prove it.  I sure hope the rebound; they are a fun squad to watch.  (By the way, despite all the love, they did not get a vote from me this week.)
