What do you think should be the affect of losses to NAIA of
d2 teams?

While they are totally irrelevant for tournament selection, I see no reason to ignore ANY available evidence for ranking purposes.  And on a more positive note, I fully weigh WINS against non-d3 teams too! ;)

8 ballots in, and the real poll has been released.  I'm still hoping to hear from PS and Hoaf, so I'll hold off another hour or so.

Not a bad poll.  I'm finding myself drifting to the extremes in the voting again, but I had 23 of the 26 in and only two of my schools had me as their only supporter.

And to alleviate any wonder.  I was the one who kept Amherst as #1.  I saw nothing this week that would lead me to dropping them.

A good poll. I find the ranking of Hope particularly fascinating though and not just as a Hope fan. 9 votes with 8 of them at 13 or higher but one poster had them at 24!!! I just wonder if there is any chance that voter would be willing to give an explanation? No other team in the rankings had such an extreme outlier so I find it curious. Mainly curious as to the reasoning. Not trying to create a fight.

Check previous pages - that would be Hoops Fan and he's already explained his reservations about Hope (I don't identify votes of individual posters, but he has already self-identified).

Actually, several other teams have outliers just about as extreme (whether higher or lower) - this seems to be expecially the case with the baffling UAA (see Chicago, NYU, and Brandeis) and CCIW (see Wheaton and Carthage) teams.

Yeah.  Just scroll back a ways on the board.  I went through my reservations.  Basically, I'm trying not to vote them up just because of their reputation.  They're schedule this year is much weaker than it has been the past few and I'm not yet convinced of their top status.  I suspect they'll finish around 20 on my poll.  That seems to be where they fit best.  I dropped them a little more than I would have liked, but the way my poll worked out, some of the bottom teams deserved to rise a little.  I think it will normalize by tournament time, although I doubt they'll get higher than 18 or so on my poll.  I'm just not sold.  They'll have to prove themselves to me in the NCAAs.

I have 2 of the 3 outliers of UAA teams and my 3rd was 2nd highest.

All of the sudden this week I ended up being the outlier on about 5 teams, after being snuglie in the middle of every team for about 3 weeks.  Oh well.

I felt better about this poll than last weeks, though.

I have the high (or tied for the high) vote on seven schools (two of those being Capital and Brandeis, for whom I was the only vote).  I also had the low (or tied for the low) on four.

I'm glad some people had Trinity so high on their ballots.  That team is very good, but needed this game against Amherst to prove it.

I'm sure some voters were a little thrown off by the Bowdoin loss.

I think the only one that I'm out of step with is Loras. But you know, I am the Loras, I speak for the trees (heh...).

Loras is #24 in Massey using MOV and #26 SOS, so they're quality.
