You think Amherst is the only decent team in the NESCAC? Your definition of 'decent' is a bit different than mine:

I dunno. According to the latest Massey ratings using MOV:

1. Amherst
4. Bowdoin
14. Middlebury
16. Trinity (CT)

Williams is down at 97th....

I mean more in comparison to the top team.  I think the NESCAC has some good squads (not as good as last season, but good) I just don't think they are in Amherst's league.

The MIAA has less "good" teams, but certainly none this year on Hope's level enough to give me reason to jump Hope over Amherst in the poll.

The Top 25 is out; how does the Poster Poll match up?

Wow, Chicago only gets mentioned at all on two ballots, and both slot Chicago into the 10-15 range!

Is Chicago the team being lost in the crowd among all the other quality teams in the UAA?

sac

There seems to be alot of divergent thougths on some teams

for instance Plattsburgh St gets 2 #2 votes all the way up to #17
Wooster, Augie, Whitewater all get a top 5 vote up to #14 and #16 for Woo

Brandeis #2 to #14

and the king UMass-Dartmouth from #4 to #25

We've either got some homers, conference homers or it really is just a wild year in D3.

sac

I don't see how 15-7 merits a #11 or #15 vote.  Chicago wasn't even on my radar.

Chicago has had an incredible season, even though they appear to be the fourth best team in the conference.

I'm glad to see I'm not all that strange this week.  I'm the far outlier on MHB.  I just wish you guys could have been on the bandwagon with me last year, when they had a better team (comparatively).

I think I've got Rochester higher than anyone else.  I tend to give streaky teams the benefit of the doubt, so they may drop precipitously.

I'm also glad someone has joined me as fans of Ursinius.  I'm glad to say I've had them highly ranked since the start of the poll this year.  They may not be national contenders, but they have a very strong squad.

The other off one is Guilford.  At the beginning of the season everyone else had them high and I had them low.  Now it seems to be the opposite.  This teams appears to be getting better as the season goes along.  Did the rest of you just have too high of expectations to start with?

I'm the 25.  Fortuitous scheduling and exceeding expectations earn a team poll position, but they do not make the team better than they are.  They area solid squad from a second tier NE conference.  I'm not sure how often that gets you higher than 15th.  Losing twice in a week, that drops you a few slots.  I think they'll finish about 30th overall in my book, right about where Rhode Island College ends up.

Massey has Chicago #5 (the highest UAA team)...

Per Massey, Chicago has played the toughest schedule in the nation.

Mr. Ypsi

We've also got some 'anti-homers' - Hope had 4 seconds place mentions to 2 for Centre, but the Hope voters held them down (I think we're bein' sandbagged)! ;D

Speaking of homers, I'll fess up to giving a #25 to IWU (even though I knew full well that would be their only vote).  With 8 losses, I knew they would probably not even be considered by most, but they are so reliant on freshmen - I honestly think they are probably top 20 NOW, but with all those losses I couldn't justify more than a token vote.

This Hope team is not as good as last years.  I feel like they're #3 in the real poll by default, because everyone around them keeps losing.  This is all quite ironic since now we appear to have HoopsFan on board while he refused to acknowledge the wagon, a much better wagon a year ago.  ;)

Fair enough, but what would, say, Centre's record be with Chicago's schedule?  (Massey has Centre as S.O.S. #193.)  Or what would Chicago be with Centre's schedule?

Nice to see Plattsburgh finally crack the top 10 on our poll. Some one else besides me had them ranked at #2. Still not quite there in the D3Hoops poll as they moved up 1 spot to #11. Equals their highest ranking of the year as the week 1 poll had them in the same spot before they fell all the way to #25 by the week 6 poll after back to back losses.  It's been a slow steady climb since then and their current winning streak now stands at 14.
