Just for the hell of it, it should probably be pointed out that UMD beat UMBoston by about 1000 points last night... I'm not a UMD fan particularly and I know UMBoston had a horrible year but last night was an official waxing.

131 - 63

Seriously, if you know anything about the LEC just take a look at UMBoston's record and the scores of their games. How does a team that goes 2-24 manage to win 1 game vs. Maine Fort Kent and lose all other games all year except for against a conference leader in RIC? Pretty remarkably I suppose.

Maybe they had a couple good practices?

Anything can happen when you lace 'em up! Jimmy Chitwood may have incarnated himself into a few UMB players against RIC!

Also, they only lost by 7 to an 18-7 Gustavus team. So they may not have been horrific, just unlucky.

I'm also holding UMASS-D back, but not really, it's more like the rest of your are lost in dreamland somewhere.

Be careful or Pat's voters will get seriously peeved - UMD finished 5th in the d3hoops poll!  Compared to that, all but one of us 'held UMD back'! ;)

Another crazy piece of info is that this UMBoston team had 3 starters still on the team from their LEC champion team 2 years ago in A.J. Titus, Amigo Paniagua, and Mark Doran although it appears that Titus went down 9 games into the season.

Mr. Ypsi

I hope everyone is aware that our penultimate poll is this week.

And for the first time in a month, we'll have to ponder #1! ;D

Centre has a final round tournament game this afternoon. If they win, would some consider moving them to #1?

And put the curse on their backs?!?

A shout out to my friend Frank Ezelle...

I think that the Majors are playing the #1 team in the country this afternoon!

:D :D ;D

I've already got them penciled in there, assuming they win today, they will remain there.  I finally got to see Amherst on the court last night thanks to the live video and they just were playing at the level I was expecting.  I wouldn't feel right sending them into the tournament at #1 on my ballot, even though they may still be my favorite to win.

Okay Frank, you owe me one!   ;)   :D

Mr. Ypsi

And down goes Centre!  Hope was next in line, or maybe gets jumped by UWW or Augie?  Or, perhaps even, Amherst stays there anyway?  And, depending on who votes this week, I'm betting on one or two votes for Plattsburgh!

You're right Mr. Y, there will be at least 1 vote for Plattsburgh at #1! ;D

Yeah, you and magic were who I had in mind, but you didn't vote last week so I wasn't sure if you were still participating.

My ballot is in.  A lot of movement; I think it's a little more mainstream.  Conference tournaments tend to prove a lot with all the tough games in quick succession.
