Yes.. my meaning is that the DIII tournaments are MORE difficult to get into than the DII and DI tourneys. Sorry for miswording that.

Nikki was a prospect from her AAU days a year ago; glad to see she's being a factor.

Last night, in a battle between GNAC leader St Joe's Maine and Commonwealth Coast Conf leader UNewEngland, the Monks got their first victory over the Nor'easters since Jan. 22, 2004-- exactly 14 years to the date of last night's contest:

Monks Blow Past Nor'easters, 74-53

The countdown to Emmanuel coach Andy Yosinoff's 800th win is underway, with 2 more wins to go to the milestone.

The Saints won at Norwich today, 60-41, to pick up career coaching win #798 for Andy Yosinoff.

Emmanuel hosts 0-12, 0-8 GNAC Rivier next on Thursday afternoon, and will travel to New Haven, CT on Saturday for the return match with Albertus Magnus.

Start time for today's Emmanuel v Rivier game has been delayed to 8:30 PM Eastern, and will now be the second game of the doubleheader.  The Emmanuel men will play first vs Suffolk.

deiscanton

Rivier did not make it too easy-- the Raiders probably played their best game of the season-- hard to believe that this was the same team that lost by 85 in a GNAC game earlier this season-- but Emmanuel pulled it out in the second half to win.

Coach Andy Yosinoff now has 799 career coaching wins and will attempt to reach the milestone of 800 on Saturday at "The Nest" in New Haven, CT, as the Saints will play Albertus Magnus for the second time this season.

Game recap:

(Emmanuel) Women's Basketball Holds off Rivier, 70-58

Congratulations to Emmanuel coach Andy Yosinoff-- 800 career coaching victories!

Emmanuel pulled it out in the fourth quarter-- took the lead with less than 4 minutes to go.

Game played like a GNAC Championship game-- Very exciting watch today.

Albertus Magnus played like a GNAC Top 4 team today and gave Emmanuel a great game.

I just called coach Andy Yosinoff to express my congratulations on his 800th win.   Coach Yosinoff expressed to me that there were times during the game today where he thought that the milestone would have to wait until Tuesday's game vs Suffolk.  Speaking of which, Suffolk almost pulled off an upset over St Joe's Maine today-- just heard it from him.  I will have to check the box score.

deiscanton

Checked it.

Monks won at Suffolk today 82-79.

Kelsi McNamara had 31 pts to lead St Joe's Maine.
