Final in game 1--Edgewood 1, Dominican 0 in 10 innings. (Eagles' Flynn goes all 10 innings for the win. Edgewood comes up with an unearned run--which came in on an RBI single by Nate Meyer. Stars' Hickey takes the loss.)

Edgewood/Dominican Game 2 set to get underway shortly:

So this is my first time posting up on d3baseball.com

Big CUC fan here considering I am a proud alumni.  But it seems to me CUC is just tearing up the stat pages in pretty much every offensive category.  (having the top 3 HR leaders is an example)

I am calling CUC taking the NAC easily this year and dominating in offensive stats like they are doing now.  They are 11-6-1 right now but I see them getting a little winning streak and hopefully getting 25-30 wins and repeating as conference champions. (even though last year it was in the IBC)

Does the NAC get an automatic bid into the playoffs by winning the conference?

No, to the best of this poster's knowledge, the automatic bid won't kick in until the 2009 season. However, the conference can get post-season bids through Pool B, or at large. however.

That is my understanding as well.

baseman201, the problem for the NAthCon is that I don't see any teams in the ABCA Regional Rankings.

Those rankings are unofficial, but there are several quality Pool B teams alrady in the rankings.  The Handbook is not published yet, so we don't know exactly how many Pool B bids will be awarded.

4/1 NAthCon Finals:

Aurora took 2 from Marian-- 10-9 and 9-8 (2nd game 10 innings.)

Concordia-Chicago 6, Rockford 5 (CUC's Rotzell and Isaac go yard, R Hartel gets the win.) Second game postponed--rain.

This poster's expecting a boatload of schedule changes given the cold snap that's supposed to hit this region. (Anyone know of any mid-size domed stadiums that can be rented on short notice?  :D :D)

soxfan14

Concordia 6 Rockford 5
3 1/2 hour rain delay
Hantel strikes out 11 in 6innings of relief
Rockford leaves 13 men on base
Hard to win when you can't hit with men on

No, they did not, the opener was suspended due to rain, and the second wasn't played, per MBBC site.

If they aren't cancelled/re-scheduled on account of cold weather, here goes:

Tuesday:  Edgewood takes 2 from Maranatha:

Wednesday winners:  Concordia-Chicago, Dominican, Marian and Rockford. (Should Benedictine and Aurora gain splits, it wouldn't surprise me).

Thursday:  Aurora on paper should take both, Rockford and Marian will split.

Saturday winners:  Dominican, Edgewood, Concordia-Chicago. (all sweeps, at least on paper.)

4/2 NAthCon finals:

Concordia-WI swept Maranatha (8-3 and 8-4). (Falcons jumped on Crusaders early and held on in both, per MBBC release.)

Non-conference:  Edgewood 10, Washington-St. Louis 9. (Dictus gets the W in relief, Landwehr the game winning RBI. (Source is Edgewood box score.)
