Edgewood sweeps Lakeland, 1-0 and 6-1. (Eagles' McCullick drives in the go-ahead run in game 1, goes 3 for 5 w/RBI in Game 2--Flynn and Marlowe get the wins.)  (Per Lakeland website.)

Concordia-Chicago sweeps WLC, 15-4 and 9-1. (Cougars' Walker hits grand slam in Game 1, Isaacs 3-run HR in game 2.) (Per Concordia-Chicago website.)

Marian splits with Benedictine, 2-3 and 12-5. (Scores off Marian site.)

Non-conference:  Rockford splits with University of Chicago, 0-1 and 7-0. (Maroon's Ginsberg knocks in U of Chicago's winning run, Jacobson takes the Regents' loss. A 5-run 2nd in Game 2 enables Rockford to salvage the split.). (Source is Maroon website.)

I am stunned at Aurora's struggles in the conference. I expected them to be a contender for the Central Region title and they may not even make it to the conference post-season.

Maybe Big Poppa might want to change that prediction that Aurora will walk thru the NATHCON. maybe they will turn it around but they are not the team they have been in the past. Had to replace a lot of pitching and a few big bats from last year

Quite a few conference games left to play in a short time due to our great spring weather,but any thoughts on the 4 spots for the conference tournaments. Looks like both concordia's in good shape . Rockford , Edgewood, and Marian fighting for the final 2 spots

4/16 NAthCon Finals:

Dominican sweeps WLC  14-4 and 12-1. (In Game 1, the Stars scored all of their runs in the last 2 innings and Dvorak got the win. In Game 2, Dominican put 6 runs across in the first 2 innings and Thorson put another one in the victory column, per WLC site).

IMHO on paper, it would appear that Edgewood has the easiest schedule, given the WI Eagle squad only has to play 2 of the other teams in contention.

Concordia-Chicago 8, North Park 4;  (7-run 2nd did Vikings in, Cougars' Petersen gets the win-per CUC's box score)

UW-Platteville 11, Edgewood 7;  (Pioneer 5-run 7th was the difference, Eagles' McCullick saddled with the loss--source is Edgewood site)

Elmhurst 7, Benedictine 5;  (Elmhurst's 4-spot in the 6th was the key here. IL Eagles' Grear takes the loss--per box score off Elmhurst site).
