Congrats to Aurora's Drew Gay and Tim Mackey, and Concordia Chicago's Anthony Even on being named D3baseball.com All-Americans.

Gay and Even are Second-Team and Mackey a Third-Team member.

Big announcement from Aurora today. The Spartans have a new head coach.

I was surprised by this move. Neitzel has done a great job there continuing the success of Mark Walsh. I am curious to know of there is more to the story as to why Neitzel stepped away to serve as a Dean. I cannot imagine he was pushed out as they were 38-10 last year and have done nothing but win the NAC the past few seasons.

I would wager Dean of Student Life pays more, has more regular hours and little travel.

Looks like Aurora has replaced their offensive losses from last year with some quality new hitters.  Putting up 15 on Coe is pretty impressive.  As more Midwest teams start playing this week and weekend it will be interesting to see how the projected top teams play.  Aurora certainly is off to a great start.

Grats to Maranatha for ending their losing streak by winning their first two games.

All teams except Concordia Wisconsin have played their spring break games and here's how the standings look.

1. Maranatha 2-0
2. Concordia Chicago 9-1
3. Benedictine 3-1
4. Aurora 6-3
5. Wisconsin Lutheran 6-3
6. MSOE 4-2
7. Marian 5-3
8. Lakeland 4-5
9. Dominican 3-8
10. Edgewood 2-11
11. Rockford 1-7
12. Concordia Wisconsin 0-0

Solid start for the Nath-Con teams. A little surprised at Wisconsin Lutheran's good start down in Florida. CUC looks early on like the team to beat in the conference.

Given their remaining schedules, I'd say CUC, AU and BU are locks for the conference tournament.

EC and RC look like strong possibilities, although if one of them gets a swept by the other they could be in jeopardy.

Going to be a dogfight for that sixth spot in the tournament with WLC, MU, LC and CUW.

Even though it appears that Rockford and Benedictine are right on par with Aurora and Concordia(IL), I can see anyone other than Concordia or Aurora winning the Pool A bid in this conference. To me, they are simply a notch or two above the others.

Where is the tourney being played this year?
