Goldengear, you are way off base on your comment about Concordia's assistant (now interim) coach. If an when the facts come out about what happenned, I think we will all understand the assistant had very little (if any) influence on the AD's and school's decision. The paper said the old coaches door was padlocked to prevent anyone from getting in there. Sounds like some serious problems.

Goldengear what are you trying to get at here? I don't know the entire story, but it is pretty evident that CUC's previous head coach broke the law on numerous occasions, and it will be proven by overwhelming evidence in court.

Not to get in the way of your mcartheyesque witch hunt, but if "it's pretty evident" he broke the law even though you don't know the story (by your own admission), where is the indictment? again though you "don't know the story" you conclude that "it will be proven by overwhelming evidence in court"

BigPoppa

Let the facts play out and then judge the situation. Adam Smith is a man of tremendous character and will do fantastic things for the university. When all is said and done, I think he will be at CUC for a long time to come.

Baseball is not a game that builds character, it is a game that reveals it.

Goldengear, I am not sure you know the entire story either. I suggest it stays off the board so that rumors do not get started.

If you read my post, I'm talking in general terms about the tight rope that coaches walk, I thought you were a coach at one time? if so would think you would understand that, I'm sure the new coach is a great guy, don't know him, but for you all (all Carthage fans it seems) to pile on on a man without knowing the story is rather weak.

BigPoppa

I was a college Head Coach and I understand the fine line they walk on a daily basis. That being said, as human beings, we have a moral obligation to protect those entrusted to our care.

Secondly, I do know the story(coaches are a tight-knit group) and, out of repsect for those involved (and being a believer in the letting the courts decide), I have kept it off the board. It is a tough time for all those involved and I don't think we need to add to their stress.

B.S. Flag on the play.

You're post about the delicate tightrope that coaches walk and the dangers they face from unscrupulous assistant coaches had NOTHING to do with the recent firing of a head coach in this conference?  Just talking in general terms? Load. Of. Crap.

If that was true, why choose the NathCon thread for your random musing. Why not use the General or Multi-Regional thread to share your wisdom.

Nice backpedal.

P.S. The "don't know him" was a nice touch, but that's as transparent as a Republican Senator who says "I'm not gay."

Golden gear, I said I didn't know the ENTIRE story.  I know enough, and as BigPoppa stated, I will not get into that on a chat board.  Your original comment was clearly stating that you thought the assistant and some players made up some story and it got the former head coach fired.  I am also a coach, both at the high school and collegiate level, so the whole "thought you were a coach and would understand" thing you're bringing up isn't very accurate.  Lets let this all play out, and you will be eating your words stating that some assistant and easily influenced players plotted to take a coaches job away.

I don't know if the courts will ever become involved, BP, because from what I know, nothing illegal occurred; rather, it was all alleged immoral behavior.

That is 100% opposite from what I know if the situation.

It's probably best not engage in innuendos here, so I won't post the details I've heard.

Randy would you please stop claiming you know things that you've heard second hand and cannot possibly prove true? Thanks.
