Who are the top contenders for the Lakeland job?

BigPoppa,

You are from that area, right? Why don't you take a shot at that job? I know you have college head coaching experience under your belt in California.

I am notinterested in the Lakeland job. They do have quite a few alums who will be. Jason Bartelt at Marian(WI) and Chad Gorman at Dana(Nebraska) are both alums who are currently head college coaches. Expect them to make a run at it.

Congrats to Aurora on the win. Good luck the rest of the way

Thanks, It looks like AU will be making the Championship series, they beat Millsaps 8-6 in game one and they are up 11-2 going into the bottom of the 4th   and Chapple is on the mound!

Just wanted to see if there were any teams that have finished the Regional yet?

Dos

Bartelt was not interested in it last time.  He was an assisant coach under Weber and he knows the situation at Lakeland.  A good number of coaches have made lateral moves out of there.  Gorman interviewed last time and he may want to get closer to home.  However rumer has it that the AD likes current assisant coach Thousand.

How is the scheduling going to be in the new conference

I have heard Brian Nelson from Rockford on this job.
I live in Chicago and have heard his name for this one and the Elmhurst job.
Not sure why he is looking at leaving Rockford has started to build a pretty good program.
Any other names out for Lakeland?

It doesn't look like many Aurora fans visit this site but I thought I at least leave a post to congratulate their team on their victory in St. Louis.  They played a lot of games that could have gone either way and their players hung tough and did what it took to win them all.  Good luck to the team at the World Series.

I would like to Congratulate Aaron Thor for the good years I had with him in my playing days, and the many runs he saved for me with this glove and arm. The biggest one being in the 2004 world series turning a  double play to end the game. As of yesterday he is now a 1st team All American shortstop. Congrats Thor you deserve it. Good luck boys!!!

Great P.R. move by the college, but a terrible coaching decision for the college. They are still sorting out the mess of the previous two firings and cannot seem to make a good call since letting John Weber walk away. Don't expect Lakeland to make any move in the baseball standings. I know for a fact that there were a few other coaches who were VERY qualified for that job that were not considered.

What a mess at Lakeland!

Captain... give the guy a chance to prove himself. He may be a great hire for them.

One day of practice is like one day of clean living.  It doesn't do you any good.  The more you sweat in practice, the less you bleed in battle.

When the 2007 Baseball Handbook has assigned the Northern Athletics Conference to a region, I will move this message board into that new one.

For now, please use this one or the Lake Michigan Message Board.

Thanks!
