Props to Jeff Thorson for tossing a no-hitter for Dominican!  :) ;) :D 8)

Yeah Great Job by Thorson...It was the first no-no in school history.

Conference play opens up this weekend, although it is predicted to be a very wet weekend throughout most of the country.  Any thoughts on the NAC and how this season should play out.  If baseball can be as exciting as the basketball season was, I think we are in for a fun month-plus of action.

Best of luck to all teams.

weekend series:

Aurora @ Lakeland*
Benedictine @ Marian*
Concordia Chicago @ Edgewood*
Dominican @ Rockford*
Wisconsin Lutheran @ Concordia-WI

*Note:  Four of the first five series in the inaugural season of the NAC pits a 2006 LMC school vs. NIIC school.

Predictions?

Predictions?

Winners:  Aurora, Benedictine, Concordia-Chicago, Dominican, Concordia-WI. (Edgewood-CUC at first glance sounds like it'll be a dogfight.) This poster's not expecting WLC's men to do that good in conference this year.

Lakeland takes both from Aurora, 8-6 and 6-4.

Found out about two other double-header results:

Concordia-WI swept WLC (don't have exact finals, but the Warriors lost both big.)

Edgewood split with Concordia-Chicago (C Flynn getting the win, B Dictus taking the loss.)

Benedictine vs. Marian postponed due to weather.

Dominican/Rockford moved back to today.

3/25 NAthCon Finals:

Game 1:  Rockford 12, Dominican 2. (Regents went yard 4 times in this one, including a grand slam). Tim Rowe had 2 of those home runs.

Game 2:  Rockford 8, Dominican 0.  (Regents' Fabian Gomez pitches a shut-out. Dominican's Thorson got shelled.)

Both per Rockford press release.

Augustana IL 10, Aurora 8. (Spartans' Martin Diaz--3 run HR in losing cause.)

3/27 NAthCon Finals

Benedictine 5, Aurora 4 (only one game played). Eagles' Bergman knocked in winning runs in 6th. Trombotta the win, Flott the save.

Doubleheaders:

Concordia-Chicago swept Dominican 5-4 and 7-2. (Lehane threw a 5-hitter in Game 2 for the win.)

Rockford split with Edgewood, winning 8-4 and losing 6-2. (Regents' Findlay went 8 1/3 for the win. In Game 2, Rockford had 11 men LOB.)

Marian swept Lakeland 4-1 and 5-2. (Tjader and Raddant with complete game victories.)

WLC swept Maranatha Baptist 4-2 and 6-4.  (WLC:  4 run rally in 8th to take Game 1. Bodnar got game 2 win.)

Winners:  Concordia-WI
                Edgewood
                Benedictine
Aurora (though a split wouldn't be a total shock here.)
Rockford and Concordia-Chicago will split (Regents' Tim Rowe hitting the tar out of the ball of late.)

3-29 NAthCon Finals:

Concordia-Chicago 8, St. Francis, IL 5.

Aurora 14, Benedictine 7.

Since the result was brought up on the CCIW board, thought I'd mention Concordia-Chicago and Wheaton, IL played to a 6-6 tie that was called after 9 innings due to darkness.

I know it's early, but I hope the above doesn't turn out to be a contributing factor if either one of those squads ends up on the bubble for the D3 post-season tournament.

Just am in the process of catching up with Game 1 of Edgewood/Dominican:

They're in the 9th, and it's a 0-0 tie.

Edgewood and Dominican are going into extra innings tied at 0-0.

Dominican's Dvorak pulled after the 9th, Hickey now pitching.
