In this week's NotEvenD2 podcast which was just dropped today on Youtube and other podcast platforms, KJ Allison and Neruda Perdomo interviewed Felix Kloman of Babson.  The interview was recorded after Kloman sustained his injury, which he described as a broken hand.  According to Kloman, he got the injury in practice, and this is the first time in his college career that he has sustained a significant injury.  He is hoping to come back later this season, but apparently Babson is going to be without his services for a while.

At the beginning of this week's podcast, the podcasters gave their picks for the AQ out of NEWMAC.   KJ believes that WPI will get the AQ, while Ruda is picking Clark to win the NEWMAC AQ.

I found the interview with Felix Kloman to be quite enlightening, and I encourage you to watch this week's NotEven D2 podcast.

Babson escapes New London, CT with a 2 point win at Coast Guard this evening, 74-72.

WPI had a comfortable win at Wheaton (MA).

1.)  WPI is 7-1 in NEWMAC play-- sole possession of first place.
2.)  Clark is 6-2 in NEWMAC play-- sole possession of second place.

Loving the NEWMAC deets. We certainly played Brandeis ever year  but no memory of the details.

Greek Tragedy

Big week for Babson this week, traveling to WPI on Wednesday and hosting Clark on the weekend.

WPI looking to avenge their only conference loss against Babson before heading to Coast Guard on Saturday.

Clark packs their bags for the week, going to Salve Regina midweek and Babson on the 1st, hoping to do the double over both of them..

As we reach the end of January, it is put up or shut up time in Conference play.

Great time of the year.

Any NEWMAC or Babson fans know what happened to Felix Kloman? Saw that he hasn't played since 1/14 against Springfield. Beavers could certainly use his 18-20ppg down the strectch.

Did you watch the NotEven D2 podcast on Youtube this week?   Felix Kloman has a broken hand.  He injured it in practice.  Kloman got interviewed by KJ Allison and Neruda Perdomo (who also happen to be 2 current Empire8 men's basketball players IRL) after he sustained the injury.

Looks like I'll have to watch that podcast. Thanks for the info!

The box score for the Clark-Babson game today is bonkers.  Clark was 15-20 from 3 :o

Not a misprint.  Clark was also 9 of 10 in the 2nd half to blow the doors off.

The game had the rare double foul scrum on the way to the locker rooms at halftime.  One team emerged on fire, and the other ...

I can't be too upset.  This was the first game all year Babson didn't have it down to a one possession game with under 5 to play.

I should know this - but say WPI and Clark split the season series and end up with the same record.  Does anyone know the tiebreak order?

Ryan Scott (Hoops Fan)

Most conferences go team by team top to bottom, but I don't know specifically about the NEWMAC.  Also, a number of conferences changes tiebreakers this year to include NPI somewhere in the process, so that adds another wrinkle.

Thanks Ryan. I will try to find out specific to NEWMAC.

What Ryan described is in play for the NEWMAC.  WPI wins the tiebreaker if Clark beats WPI (assuming no other losses and no major changes to the standings of other teams).

I have a sneaky suspicion that Babson will run thru the tournament for another conference championship despite being middle of the pack thru league play YTD.

With wins against Trinity, Wooster and WPI they have what would be the equivalent of three Quad 1 wins in Division I.

Meanwhile, Clark and WPI have more wins but against who? At some point the two teams from Worcester are going to have play someone that is good at basketball in the non-conference...
