That's the coaches' All-American team. Not the same for ours.

With as many mid-weak games as they play against CUNY, and playing in the Skyline - that migh tbe possible.

NYBB

i cannot wait until next spring!

this will be my last post.  purchase college has 14 guys coming in for 4 available spots. coach guerrero is rapidly improving the program and with Purchase becoming an official D3 this year, their baseball, along with all their other sports programs, are moving on up.

the college is almost done with a giant soccer stadium (football goalposts as well...hmmm) and with other renovations, i would say that this school is going to turn around and become a D3 contender in the next 5 years.  That's it.

Also, watch out for me in the spring. lol

Hey guys,

Anyone know if Ryan Pembroke from Farmingdale State got drafted or is playing independent ball?  Heard some rumors - thought i could get some facts here...

Benvenuto getting drafted after this season????

Bob Maxwell

Ryan Pembroke will be playing in the Arizona Winter League in Yuma this January to March.  IN addition he was one of the guys who played in the 2008 NY State League and was signed to play in the Continental Baseball League next summer.  Here is a copy of the annoucement from the NY State League BLog:

WELSH, ACEVEDO, AND PEMBROKE SIGN WITH CBL FOR 2009
October 14, 2008 by nystateleague
Zack Welsh, C, Matt Acevedo, INF, and Ryan Pembroke, INF, have signed contracts with the Continental Baseball League for the 2009 season. The teams these players will be on will be selected later through the Continental League draft.

He and Zach Welch roomed with my son Rob last July in Yonkers and they will join Rob in playing in the CBL this summer.  Rob has signed with Texarkana... Zack and Ryan will go into the league draft this spring to determine which team they end up on.

MMTPdthree

Any word on how some of the teams are looking thus far?
Does anyone know whats really going on with the regoinals?  I understand Old Westbury/Skyline are co-hosting it, but is the tournament being held @ Jackie Robinson Stadium or Farmingdale State Stadium?

MMTPdthree

To answer my own question.  The regional is being held @ Farmnigdale.
Good to see some national recognition for the conference.  Well, at least for St. Joes.  Gerdes as a 2nd team All-American and i see they got a few national ranking votes.  I have a feeling it is going to be an exciting season for skyline fans

Bob Maxwell

He is a former SUNYAC player, but as a follow up to my post from 11/7... just to be accurate.  Zach Welch has signed with Texarkana (not sure who it happened but he did).  Ryan Pembroke will still be in the upcoming league draft...

It is nice to see players and teams from NY receive recognitions... I wish there were more of them.

MMTPdthree

Bob, why is it that not as many guys from the NY Region get the recognition, that quite frankly, some deserve??

Bob Maxwell

Good question... I have no answer for it.

Here is a link to the stats from the Winter League.  Pembroke was on Saskatchewan.
