Good news Wesley fans! Wesley remains #1 in the East Regional Rankings. This bodes well for a potential Pool C bid!

Now my question is this: Does Wesley want Salisbury to win or lose on Saturday?

If Salisbury wins, then Wesley goes to Pool C with a 1-1 record vs. RROs and solid criteria. If Salisbury loses, then Wesley gets Pool A and their record against RROs goes to 1-0 (I see Salisbury dropping out if they lose this weekend), BUT would Wesley take a hit if Salisbury gets beat?

In other words a Sea Gull win (to me) would mean Pool C and a "higher seed" compared to a Sea Gull loss, which means Pool A and a "lower seed." Thoughts?

Right now, I have Mount Union, Linfield, St. Thomas, and Johns Hopkins as the possible #1 Seeds. I think Wesley gets a home game regardless of Saturdays result, but I don't see them having two home games if Salisbury Wins.
Wesley would probably get in a bracket with UMU or Hopkins as I see it. Are you saying Wesley gets a "lower seed" if Salisbury wins? Pool A > Pool C? Wesley is in a weird spot at the top of the East AND a Pool C contender pending the results Saturday.

A > C is not a thing.  Based on these rankings, Wesley would not play a game at Salisbury (hypothetically).  I'd have to dig, but I'm sure there are plenty of cases where Pool A teams have traveled to play Pool C teams in the first round or two.

It IS weird that a Pool C team is #1 in the rankings.  I don't think I've seen that before.

Exactly, I think that when the final rankings come into play, holding everything else equal, conference champions and others get included in the final rankings and I think NCC falls out of the North, making Wesley RRO 0-1 and they become the #2 behind Albright. You have Mount Union, Linfield, St. Thomas, Johns Hopkins, UW-Oshkosh, Albright, Wheaton, and Wabash that are most likely the top 8 seeds come final rankings. Then you have Hardin-Simmons with a similar resume with a better SOS right outside.
D3MAFAN-MG, I'm confused.... How would NCC drop out? In the final rankings are all Pool A teams placed in or something?

I think other than head-to-head and the .667 percentage rule, the committee secretly (this is all speculation), since we never truly know what the final rankings are, the committee looks at every team that is playoff bound and reshuffles them within their final ranking, thus NCC falling out. Please do not be confused, this is my personal opinion on the final rankings.

There is not reshuffle with playoff teams being added to the RR.  AQs that are not ranked dont all of a sudden get ranked.  If NCC wins this week they will likely stay in the RR.  As far as Wesley hosting Salisbury if they meet again, based on the RR that would make sense since the committee ranks Wesley clearly ahead of the Gulls.  I hope they are in different brackets, but if they have to meet again I expect it to be at Wesley and after what I saw last week would expect Wesley to win.  The interesting thing is that it looks like the east and south may not have a #1 seed in the top 4.  I think it is a stretch that Hopkins gets a #1 overall in a bracket.  The brackets will be great to look at this Sunday.

Methinks that Wesley and Salisbury will end up in different brackets, despite geographic proximity. Salisbury in the Bracket with Johns Hopkins and Wesley as the 2 in the bracket to Mount Union. Or, vice versa.

I think Johns Hopkins will end up as one of a the #1 seeds for geographic reasons, but I'm not sure that's a legitimate reason for the #1 seeds. Otherwise, perhaps 3 West Teams and the Mount?

You ain't kidding!  Frostburg is playing the spoiler today giving Salisbury all it can handle.  Gotta feel for teams that suffer hangover games.  Frostburg is up 17-0 and driving in the 2nd quarter.  You can never rule out a comeback though......

At the end of the half, Frostburg leads 20-0.  Very impressed by Frostburg's defense vs the option.  They are doing a better job than Wesley did last week.

Why do these TV video announcers remind me of the Saturday Night Live skit mimicking the NPR announcers. All we need is Alec Baldwin.

Listening to the Wesley game, so I haven't listened to them yet.  I will have to now.  Frostburg is up 27-7 at the end of 3.  They are not letting Salisbury back into the game.  I continue to be really impressed with Frostburg's ability to penetrate the option and take out the back.
