Are you heavily intoxicated now JU?  ???

RU did not go to the Stagg Bowl in '01, although they should've.

And what has your team done lately?
LONG LIVE THE BORO!

If you do ANYTHING, give it your EVERYTHING!

Jonny Utah

ah ha....I was wrong.  I get confused when talking about all of Rowans blowouts in the stagbowls.

Weve done as much as Rowan has.  O national championships.

This is the big IF question :

I was reading Around The Nation and it said that if there was a 3 way tie for the NJAC, Rowan would probably win due to the QOW. I calculated the QOW for Rowan 9.75 and Montclair 10.13. Now if Cortland beats IC their QOW would be 10.11 and if they lose it would be 9.22. It almost sounds like the long straw wins ;D, but in reality Rowan has the overall better record between the Trio. Well back to the real world.
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

My error, I was wrong about ATN stating Rowan would win due to the QOW. They said that Rowan would probably win in a 3 wat tie. Sorry.

yea you lost to cortland though and embarrassed the east for the friggin umteenth time in the staggbowl.

Do it when it counts

You mean like you guys did before the advent of electricity?  Face it Jonny, when Butterfield went, so did Ithaca's eastern supremacy.  You guys haven't been the best team in the east in a long time.  It's amazing you still trash talk about what you did a decade and a half ago.  You're not even the best team in your own conference anymore, and if you doubt me, play SJF on a neutral field and find out.

And if you want to trash talk Rowan, at least schedule them.  That would be a far more meaningful matchup than Lycoming.  Oh wait, you lost that one too.  Maybe you can erase the memory of that last playoff loss to Rowan if you play them?  Or maybe you can create all new playoff excuses for yourselves.

I don't care if you guys make the playoffs most seasons.  (With the growing power of SJF that may be changing too.)  I dare say Cortland would win their conference too if they got to play Alfred, Utica, and Hartwick instead of Rowan, Montclair, and TCNJ.

JT

utah,

I wouldn't bet against Cortland in the Jug.  This is the NJAC not the E8.  And yeah it sucks not to win the Stagg, but the Profs lost to great programs and great coaches, then were robbed of their best shot in 2001.

The talent level has elevated greatly and program are better across the board.  It is a lot tougher to win a title since Ithaca's last won it.

cstate19

I'm now in this board.  I think the Cortaca Jug board was posted for that game.  Stay off the NJAC board unless you have something to say about the uhhhhhh NJAC!!!

Jonny Utah

first of all, Im not being totally serious in everything Im saying here, but there are some points that I think should be noted.

like I said on the cortaca board, the njac isnt that impressive after rowan.  Ithaca would be the second best team in that league, (or first some years) over the last 10 years.

Dan, I never said anything about Ithaca since butterfield left.  theyve still had great seasons and some playoff game.  Why doesnt Rowan schedule Ithaca Dan?  You and I know Ithaca doesnt avoid anyone, they never have.  (Im not saying Rowan does either).  Just some friendly trashtalk with drgsc about how rowan hasnt done too much either in terms of the big game.

Ive never made any excuses about playoff loses.  the snow thing is an obvious joke.

If Cortland was in the e8 theyd be the same as the njac, a mediorcre program with a win every once in a while over good teams along with a bunch of embarrassing losses every year (buff st, etc)  Theyve been the same for 15 years.

and how has it been tougher to win it all since ithacas won it?

cstate, like i said, Rowan is a great team, but after that the njac aint that special.

cstate19

Personally, Im not saying the NJAC is all that great.  It is hard to play one of the best teams in the country every year for a playoff berth. And we do play them every year very tough. Yes I know a loss is a loss and that the E8 is no cupcake conference.  I just wish we could finally beat Rowan once, like we should.

ACMob

JO!!  Like, IC has never laid an egg in the Stagg Bowl ??? (63-0), (28-0)  RU hasn't been shutout in any.  Last time IC played RU, well we know how that went!!  Worry about AU and then C-state.   Heck, I thought you were a New England conference fan-- your always in there. ::)

When is the last time your squad lost to or BEAT Mount!!  Even though it was a ugly, Rowan did play the D3 champs last year in their house!  I usually root for IC most of the time, but clowns like you, have me rooting for their opponents!  Go back to whatever board(s) you lurk on and stay out of here. Boston BS!! :P

Dr. bad karma to you for your good posts!! 8)

PS.  After viewing your most recent bant,  Gro has the same argument with RPI in the NJAC.  Play pretend with him on his board!! :P :P

Nor am I.  If we are going to trash talk, then I am going to give some back.

I agree regarding the NJAC not being a huge deal after Rowan, but then again name a conference which is monstrous after the top team is discounted.  The WIAC.  Maybe the OAC?  Certainly no conference in Eastern Region.

I brought up Ithaca's post season success after Butterfield in response to you saying Rowan needed to "do it when it counts."  From where I stand Rowan is far exceeding the playoff success year-in year-out of any other team in eastern region.

As JT said, I wouldn't exactly write off Cortland.  Cortland's defense is light years beyond last year's team, and despite the bizarro world loss to Buff State, there are plenty of quality wins to point to.

That's hardly something to gloat about, considering Ithaca has actually won Stagg Bowls.

LOL.  Pat always manages a nice zing when there is an open shot to take.

I remember those IC championship days.  They'd come out with the triple option and run the same 6 plays against you the entire game, and just dare you to stop them.  And Butterfield always had the horses to back it up - a big, fast fullback, an outside speed demon halfback, and a great dual threat run/throw quarterback.

Of course they also had the best fullback I have ever seen at this level, Jeff Wittman.  The Paul Parker, Mike Scott, Tom Pasquale combo in 1988 was amazing too.
