Well, Kean has made their fair share of mistakes as well.  Wesley 24-10 at the half.

CNU escapes because Montclair is one dimensional.  Not sure what happened to the CNU offense, but it is not nearly what it was against Wesley.  Everyone held serve which sets up the first installment of win or go home next week between Wesley and Rowan.  Rowan struggles with SoVA which does not look good.  Wesley's offense looks good with and strong running game leading the way.  Looking forward to next weeks game.

I'm home from the game. I'm going to sit here a minute and let my heart recover. We scored with 33 seconds left in the game to send to overtime. Once OT started Montclair had no chance. The CNU defense and the crowd stepped up. I may be wrong, but I don't think they gave up even a yard on any OT play.

I heard on the radio on the drive home that DiStefano had minus 10 yards in second half. That kid is GOOD! So, that was a tremendous defensive effort! Huge!!

This was college football. Great game, played hard, beautiful fall weather, awesome crowd, band, etc. of course a W helps with the atmosphere. Montclair plays tough and they are FAST!!!  Ther QB is big and with some game experience will improve. He seemed a bit fragile today. Not sure if he entered the game banged up or what. But he played a lot smaller than his size. Looked like he was protecting himself perhaps. He just seemed to go down too quickly, even with minimal hits.

Saw the last bit of the game, but had a questionable pass interference call for the final score to tie it up. However, Montclair could not do anything in OT.

I'm still getting used to these refs. Inconsistent. Montclair gets a sideline warning. CNU gets a sideline penalty with no warning. The Linesman seemed to want to run the crew. I thought the guy in white hat did that.

Joe Callahan was released by the Packers yesterday and immediately signed by New Orleans.  They released a lineman to make room for him.   The Packers had hoped to put him on the practice squad to make room for some IR guys, but he got plucked instead.   He definitely impressed people this preseason.

Wesley played a pretty good game today.  They kept Kesack in which was a good choice.  Baynard had a nice 100+ yard day out and the defense was stingy if you take away a few big plays.  Not too shabby really even though there was a slow start to the offense.  Next week is the litmus test......

If my math is correct, CNU allowed a mere 28 yards in the second half and OT, combined

Now I'm hearing about other people complaining about the refs. I thought that was my job for years. I do my polls and pick e'ms but have not been to any MSU games yet. Business and family are more important. We are young and will get better but thetv NJAC does not appear to be real strong this year. The only team that has a chance to get beyond  2 deep in the playoffs is Wesley and they may not make it.
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Just looked at the stats. Brennan Gary #52 for CNU had 16 tackles!!!

Very impressed by the stats for the Wesley offense this week.  38 first downs, 38 min TOP, twice as many running plays as passing plays, and pretty even distribution of running and passing yards.  That is the most balanced I have seen Wesley since I don't know when.  2 turnovers is still too many and 9 penalties are too many also.  I figured the offense would start to look really good, and with 2 running backs, one pounder and one speed back, can really start to mix things up making defending them tough.  I have not seen the last 2 games so I do not know if the pass defense has improved, will know that after Saturday, but if it has improved even slightly Wesley is going to be a tough team to beat from here on out.  Rowan this week, how do they score 34 on Salisbury and only 17 on SoVA?  Then on to Montclair, who gave CNU all it could handle, should have won the game.  Next is Salisbury, a team that somehow gave up 34 to Rowan and lost, at least it seems like anyway, because they did not play the starting QB and running back.  I think Wesley wins out and if they get some help from someone against CNU who now looks like a very average team, Wesley would win the NJAC.  If CNU wins out they win it and Wesley faces an uphill battle to get in via pool C.  Plenty of football left to play, but I think it looks good.

Wesleydad, thanks for your insights.  Your views are informative and appreciated, just don't always agree.

Wesley has not impressed.  And if they average their turnovers and Penalties Rowan wins!  Rowan will be ready and play their best.

Good luck this weekend.

I've heard a big difference with SVU this year is their D-line. In recent games, opponents have had issues with it and only able to post 17 points. They must have some big boys up front!

Swish3

CNU's qb has been struggling w/his accuracy and decision making...of course, part of that is the offensive line not being able to consistently block those big d lines as the game goes on...overall, CNU is still undersized compared to the majority of the conference teams.  It also seems that the opposing defenses have been able to take away some of the short to intermediate pass completions that CNU was getting early on...winning at Frostburg will be tough w/the offense continuing to struggle.

GO CAPS!

Maybe not, but if we compare the games against SoVA the team that did not impress was Rowan.  I am on record about the turnovers and penalties, both are too high to be a top team.  I know Rowan beat CNU, but they did not impress in that game either.  I saw them play Widener and except for special teams, and Widener is still poor at punting, they did not impress either.  Wesley was poor against Del Val with interceptions and penalties and did the same against CNU.  Rowan is going to throw the ball, if Wesley has not improved it's pass defense it will be a long day for Wesley.  But, I have to figure that based on prior games, Rowan has struggled scoring which is never a good thing when you play Wesley.  It will be a good game and the weather is going to be nice.
