I went to a Montclair game last year at Western Conn and I thought they had a good number of fans.  It could've helped that both the away and home team bleachers were on teh same side.

ACMob,

You guys are tough today. What do you guys have against Lawrence Welk? ;D

Let's see, my daughter, her boyfriend, and myself, thats a one, and a two and a three. One more person and we're ahead of the game. ;)

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

ACMob

Actually Dave, I was thinking of the commercial where the (Prof)  :)  owl was counting how many licks does it take to get to the chocolate center of a "Tootsie Pop.!" ::)

AC,

I'm mad at you. You have more negative karma then me.  ;)

ACMob,

It would come down to quality of wins.  http://www.d3football.com/qow.php

Pat's database updates once all the scores come in.  So check it Saturday night. Profs would definitely rise.  Would they be No. 1, I don't think so.  They are below Cortland right now and the Red Dragons already have two losses.

Hey Redhawks,

Go out there and play for REDHAWK PRIDE!  You guys have really come together the last few weeks.  Let's finish strong!  And who knows where we go from there...  :D I just don't understand why it is such a big concern over how many people we have in the bleachers?!?   ???

It's interesting that Wesley has the best SOS......considering they lost to Brockport 47-0. :-\

I am still kinda puzzled by that.  How did a team whose lowest scoring output was 31 going into the game, get shutout and like, get doublemonkey-stomped by Brockport.  Not saying that Brockport isn't good, cause they are a decent team, but 47-0!?!?!?

When Rowan shows up at Upper Montclair with more fans than the home squad for an NJAC Championship game – and the MSU powers that be put on a halftime show which consists of 20 minutes of hip-hop blaring through the loudspeaker – augmented by a frisbee-catching dog and the PA announcer running down every non-DIII score he can find including the likes of Stony Brook, Liberty, Portland State... you know that the only people who really care about football on that campus are the coaches, players and a core of about 100 fans (I'm being generous).

I think Dave can attest to the fact that the administrations at TCNJ and Rowan support their home football games entirely differently than they do at Montclair. If Montclair didn't have Giancola and his staff firmly in place the Red Hawks would be on par with Kean and WPU. When you have average facilities and a poor fan base you had better have darn good coaches – and Montclair does.

3redhawks

I agree we do have a great coaching staff.  I also agree that the administration does not support us.   :-\  Football is not on the top of their priority list.  But the fans that do show up shouldn't be knocked down.   We do what we can.  Also the fact that Montclair is a big commuter school doesn't help either.

rams1102

3redhawks,

The commuter argument does not hold water. There is no excuse why we should not have 1,500 to 2000 at each game. We have over 12,000 students. My daughter just graduated in May. When I went to the TCNJ game it cost me -0- to park in the garage and general admission was $5. When was that ever the case for MSU. We are the only place were you have to pay to park for an athletic event. I'm very protective of MSU, but what's right is right. See you down in Glassboro and let's come away with a big "W" and maybe an ECAC bid.

Phil,

Your statements were correct, except for the attendence last year at the NJAC championship game. We had more fans then Rowan did, but not by much. ;D

Dave
I was speaking of the NJAC title game I attended in Montclair in '02.

TCNJ has the same amount of on-campus residents as Montclair and about 7,000 less students overall.
