the officials are horrible.  that is one of the worst spots I have ever seen.  how can you be that far off of the actual catch point.

I completely concur!  That spot was a FULL yard behind and even the Frostburg announcer couldn't believe the spot.  Man there are some suspicious calls going on.

This so reminds me of the Southern Virginia game where the calls were so obviously in favor of SV.  Wow.....  The Frostburg announcer twice mentioned the spottings.

defense looks gassed.  offense needs to make plays to pull the game out.

O T.  in the end a good game, but Wesley let it get away with the fumble looking to go up 28 - 10.  Make plays and win in OT.

Sucks don't it?  Fumble on the 3 and so much changes....  Wesley only gets the FG, so now the D will have to hold Frostburg off....

Wow!  a BLOCKED FG wins it for Wesley!!!!!!!   :o  I was scared that it was going to be called back for a field infraction penalty......whew......

Frostburg is pretty good.  Nice comeback when it was looking bleak.  Wesley wins on blocked field goal in OT.  Defense played well, on the field too long.  Offense has to get better if they are going to challenge anyone after first round of playoffs if they get in.  Frostburg QB is good.  If they win out they should get in the playoffs.

Frosturg showed moxy.  Lavat is a beast and really wore down a Wesley defense that was on the field too long.  155 yards is nothing to sneeze at.  If E.J. Lee didn't fumble the ball on the 3, this would have been another game altogether.  Wesley would have went up 28-10 and that would have been a hill too high to bear.  Instead, Frostburg gets the ball on the 1 and Morant blows through the line for a 79 yard run that shifted the momentum.   A play later, we are looking at a 21-17 game instead.

Gotta give props to Wesley's defense for holding when they had to.  Frostburg had the ball with 4:45 left in the game against a wasted Wesley defense and the defense held them off to get the team to OT.  The short crossing route thrown by Burroughs with 18 seconds left has me scratching my head though........

I have no worries about Wesley's offense whatsoever  E.J Lee was all over the field and I love it when Burroughs starts running into an open field.  Okike was quiet but he is probably not 100% right now. Burroughs wrecked Frostburg's secondary up the middle today.   Take the long balls away and it gets even better.

This was the first round of the NJAC tournament.

Will post more thoughts when I get home. That was one heck of a game. And some of the absolute worst officiating I have seen in a while.

agree with the officiating.  I dont usually comment on officials but this was not good on too many occasions.

Good win for Wesley off of a much improved Frostburg team. Did not expect it to get that close... but it did. Looking at the boxscore, Frostburg held the ball for 38 minutes and racked up just over 500 yards of offense, but they ran 27 more plays than Wesley did, and 99 of them came on two plays. It seemed that Frostburg's plan was to chew up clock and keep Wesley's offense off the field, and it nearly worked. All in all though, I think the defense played relatively well. I was a little surprised to see that Wesley did not record a sack yesterday.

I thought the offense played decent. They played without their best WR as Okike seemed to be on the field as more of a decoy. Ankle must not be 100%. Seeing Burroughs live I liked his mentality. Really calm and collected field general. The lone interception he threw was into the wind and did not lead Okike. IMO that was a touchdown if he leads him down the sideline. Burroughs will continue to improve with the best part of the schedule ahead for Wesley.

As I said earlier, the officiating was terrible. It changed the whole complexion of the game with a few calls. As some of you alluded to already, the EJ Lee "fumble" at the 3 after a long conversation was just bad. I didn't think it was a turnover, but if you have to have a conversation for that long, then you must not have seen it and cant just award the ball to Frostburg. Scoring on that drive puts the game away for Wesley. There was also a pass to Okike that he caught past the sticks for a first down at a key point in the game. He was pushed back by a defender and they did not give him forward progress. The illegal touching by Kemp along the Wesley sideline was a little baffling as well. Finally, on the last drive a Wesley defender pulled the ball from the hands of the Frostburg RB and they said he was down. In a game this big, officials should be the last thing you have to worry about.

I guess my prediction about a tie for Frostburg and Wesley would have came into fruition if this was 50 years ago. I expect both teams to still be ranked in the upper to lower teens.

Now onto the my game of the week. Salisbury defense played outstanding the whole game, the secondary made key breakups all throughout the game, the lined pressured when needed. Except a few big explosive plays, they held strong. Offensively they showed promise, but have to learn how to finish to get out of the 3rd and long, we can't pass to save our lives when the other team knows we are passing, the o-line just doesn't hold up. Special teams with was average, expected more from that side of the ball, more on the returners, the kicking was very good, made fgs and made CNU drive the distance, which they only did once or twice. I think if the offense can figure out what they want to do they can compete with the upper Tier II teams. Nevertheless, we have two very winnable games over the next few weeks to get into stride before we face a good Rowan team and our old ACFC gauntlet to end of the season. As always, I am hoping for a "W" in the win column for the Gulls.

Geez, that was a bad time for the CNU offense to lay an egg...so much for a meaningful game against Wesley to end the season...oh well, playing for pride now. :(  Just saw where Salisbury averaged 5.7 per rush...I really thought CNU's D would have done a better job.  Give credit to SU, but I think the Captains are better than that...hope you didn't go to the game, '85!

Just looked at Montclair and noticed that they still can make a run, they only give up about two scores a game, although they haven't played against the Top of the NJAC. I think my Gulls will have to really focus on offense this week, we can't have another close game and keep the defense on the field or put them into poor position. I am hoping the offense can really start clicking, last year we average almost 40 points per game, however over the last three games only 21 points. I would be more comfortable if we can get into that happy median, because the defense is playing very well.

I was there.....watching from the radio booth! SU has an amazing stadium! Very impressive. I have now been banned from all CNU road games!

Fun Factoid...since joining the NJAC, CNU has defeated the conference eventual conference champion. So, I guess it is fair to say that if Wesley wants to win the NJAC, they should wrap it up before the CNU game, then lose! It's in the cards!!! ;D :D ;D :D
