Brockport has the advantage at almost every position. Throw in home field and I will go with Brockport 34-20.

I don't know about RB. Brockport's Justin Morrison hasn't played in 2 games , so he's obviously hurt.. Wesley RB E.J. Lee was NJAC Offensive Player of the Year. I gotta think he's pretty good. Not a big back (either is Morrison) at 5-8 185, but I assume he's quick and explosive.

EJ Lee is a very shifty back. One of those little guys who relies on patience to use his blockers and find holes. Finds a way to slip out of 1 on 1 tackles. He's had a few runs this year that were nuts.

Not sure the whole home field thing is going to matter all that much to Wesley. They've played in some tough places in recent history. Being in Brockport won't faze them IMO (it isn't Alliance).

Wesley's run offense is statistically better than Brockport's in both run efficiency and yards per play.  The Wesley defense also allows less yards per play.  This with a slightly better strength of schedule (50 vs 57).

Expect Morrison to play early and often. He has suited up the last 2 weeks with the coaches decision to rest him. A little of both Ski lol.

I like my chances with the #1 rush defense and #1 in most sacks defense. How are Wesleys cb's? Brockports 4th receiver could be a 1 on most teams. Tyree Brown is a player to watch, dude is human highlight film. Either way 4 day Thanksgiving weekend with a sweet 16 playoff game on sat in Brockport. Life is good!! Is it sat yet? Good luck to all.

dlip, I'm wondering how much Brockport has seen of that "tier" thus far. Of course their opponents consist of consistently decent teams like Hobart, Ithaca and Alfred, but this year those teams did not quite get to that top tier of the east.

Brockport in 2016 had Alfred on the ropes at Yunevich Stadium with a 28-17 lead late in the third quarter... eventually succumbing to a bend-not-break AU defense and a guy named Tyler Johnson (who, Pep will add, Germinerio emulates with his duo run/pass threat).

Could it be that Hobart, Ithaca and Alfred didn't "quite get to that top tier of the east" because of Brockport? When AU rallied to pull to within 28-25 up at Brockport, the game was delayed after the brutal hit on Germinerio...and the Brockport defense regrouped and turned back the Saxons. Mind you, AU had a couple of hiccups this year (at Cortland and vs. RPI) because of offensive inconsistency, but the Saxon defense was as good or maybe even better than in 2016. Hobart's hiccups came at Ithaca and Union. Ithaca's "hiccup" occurred at RPI, after opening with losses to Alfred and Brockport with a different QB.

Pep would say Ithaca, Hobart and Alfred, even with the hiccups, were certainly comparable if not better than the top teams Wesley faced all season long.

Love ya Pep, but Ithaca, Hobart, and Alfred > Del Val and Frostburg, ummm NO.  Del Val and Frostburg both won playoff games, the 3 aforementioned teams did not make the playoffs.  Wesley handled Del Val in the second half and if not for a fumble deep in Frostburg territory would have went up 28 - 7.  All plays matter so the results are what they are.  Wesley has seen enough talent this year to be ready for Brockport.

I think now we have seen some crossover games so we can judge the NJAC and MAC teams a little better than we could after the season ended.  I've seen Brockport and Wesley in a few games online, and I'll give Brockport the edge only because they are at home and they have played to their potential all year.  Wesley seems to be hit or miss in the first half and other parts of games.  If Wesley can play mistake free and not wait to the half to make the proper adjustments, they will win the game.

Brockport got probably the weakest team in the first round (Plymouth) so a 66-0 win may not be as impressive as a 35-0 win by Del Val.  DelVal/WNEU box score is a little misleading as well.  WNEU out gained them on the board, but it appears their special teams were atrocious.

The Frostburg wins shows me that the NCAA knew what they were doing, although the NCAC is also a conference that may be no better than some of the New England conferences.  No crossover games to compare them to in a 10 team league.

Pep is just thrilled that the East Region has "its own bracket" while also sending an East Region team (Frostburg) elsewhere to cause some trouble. Wesley, Brockport, Del Valley ...it will be fun to see who will be the East Region Team in the semi-finals.

On this we can agree Pep.  Part of me sort of wishes that these 3 were playing other region teams to see if the east has stepped up to the other regions.  I expect Frostburg to win again this week.

I do too.  They are a far better team than many people think.  Last year's snub and subsequent dismantling of SJU I think really started to open peoples' eyes.  Wesley only beat them by the skin of a blocked field goal in over time and that game was in the balance right up to the end.  I know we Wesley folks have a healthy respect for the Bobcats.

or the game was on the verge of a blowout if the fumble does not happen inside the 5.  after that Wesley went to sleep on offense and Frostburg climbed back into it.

Wesley's run offense is statistically better than Brockport's in both run efficiency and yards per play.

5.3 yards per rush to 5.2 yards per rush is a distinction without a difference.

Incorrect. Wesley's defense allows 4.3 yards per play to Brockport's 3.8

Hah!  The Hansen Ratings statistics changed on me.  Hilarious.  The last time I looked at them (when I posted), Wesley was ahead.  It must have been updated from the last game.  I stand corrected.  Doesn't change my opinion of course.
