TCNJ getting a little love as the "dark horse", even tho picked for 7th place. That horse must be midnight black. I like it however.

Love it when the rosters come out! Especially with a new coach. It gives indications of a new focus in certain areas. I like what I see....even if some of the results  from the new players are a year or so away. I do see a couple of immediate impact players. Anytime a d3 school lands a Class 5 first team All-State player at a skilled position......that took some pretty decent recruiting.
That's awesome. I've been waiting for Rowan to post their updated roster. They likely won't post it until after camp :(  Who is the Class 5 first team All-State recruit on CNU's roster?

He's in here somewhere.... ;D :D

I guess you're referring to Donaldson.

Class 5 Second Team All-State Offense:
RB - C.J. Donaldson - L.C. Bird (SR)
238Car. 1854Yds. 18TD's

Oh I see now...Va Preps does their own thing. VHSL is the governing body of sports for public schools in Va. Just 2 diff accolades.

CNU85

Just some things I've noticed from the roster.
Some transfers from either D1 or JUCO.
8% of roster played high school ball outside of Va.
OL/DL Freshman are bigger
Only carrying 98 on roster (I'm guessing JV team is now extinct)
Many players returning from injuries after having some good stats when they went down. Let's see if they have recovered.
Now to see how this plays out on the field. Need a few more W's this year.

Defense should be solid again this year. Offense is set at the skilled positions (QB is unproven but I think will be just fine). The key to the entire 2018, in my amateur opinion, is the play of the offensive line.

Final note of the day. I know fans are looking forward to the 2018 season, but let me ask about 2019 and beyond. With some teams leaving, I'm interested in hearing about scheduling issues for other teams. How will that play out for you guys? CNU seems to be locked in with Hampden-Sydney (CNU President is an alum) but that could change as the ODAC adds teams.  I'm not sure where they will look for the other 2 non conference games needed.

I'm sure Wesley will visit old adversaries, perhaps John Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Del Val, and perhaps Frostburg in DII.  Coach Knapp knows a thing or two about scheduling out of conference opponents, out of division III if necessary.

Perhaps looking north to the LL/E8?  Several teams (Hobart, Union, St John Fisher) only have 9 games this season

I'm also wondering long term what impact, if any, the current issue in the CAC will have on  NJAC football. The CAC will not have an AQ in all sports once everyone leaves. If the CAC survives and other schools are enticed to join.......and they play football. Time will tell.

I think that the CAC and the NJAC are apples and oranges.  CAC will not sponsor football to save their lives.  Its members (with exceptions like Wesley, of course) don't have the facilities nor the gumption to introduce the sport.

With only 6 members remaining in the near future, it will be 3vs3 for football/non-football teams. Southern Virginia, CNU, Salisbury vs York, Mary Washington, and St. Mary's. I really don't see York or Southern Virginia sticking around much longer either if they can get anyone to give them an invite.

With all the recent re-alignment, the CAC has been a big loser. I don't see how that will change either.

Yeah, I'm thinking SVU wants in the ODAC. I was just wondering that of the schools remaining in the CAC, when they go try to find others to come play, those schools would have to know where their football program would be playing.  It will be interesting as this plays out.

I think if the ODAC wanted SVU they wouldn't have taken Ferrum. I think the football association is a win-win, SVU gets out of some horrific travel and the ODAC is down to a very manageable 2 OOC games per season, but the ODAC as a whole doesn't want or need another full-time member. Especially one that doesn't bring much to the table.

HSC very much wants to continue playing you guys. HSC still needs 2 OOC games and the two schools are not far down the road from each other, and you said, CNU's fearless leader is one of ours. Good luck this year and I hope we can give CNU a run for its money on September 8th.
