not sure what that was.  4th and 5, go to a quick pass.  instead o line does not protect long enough and burroughs makes a scramble bad pass int and wesley comes up empty.  now into the wind for the 4th quarter.  still 13-7 gulls.
Looked as though he had Simpson in the slot open on a slant.

thewaterboy

Someone had to be open downfield. LB in the flat like that.

wesleydad

wesley defense totally shutting down the gulls.  offense needs to get one drive.

wesleydad

screen freezes and I dont get to see the missed extra point.  no matter, same issues.  wesley gets fumble on kick off, but they need a td.  wont be making a field goal into the wind.

wesleydad

d backs are just sitting deep and pass routes are still being run deep.  why?  hit short passes and let the receivers run.  5 int's and they are still tied.  ughhh.

MonroviaCat

dang, what's going on with PATs in this game?

Wow. Hell of a win.

This team is so close to being really, really good. It may be the aftershock of an emotional win but I say this: Wesley's trend back upward has begun.

NJAC Championship next week with Frostburg-Salisbury, should be a good one.

CNU85

A good win by CNU today. Anderson was 29-45 for 478 yds and 4 TDS. Davis had 10 catches for 212. Blais had 19cathces for 172. 6-2 with both losses in OT.

Conference on the line next week...Frostburg and Salisbury.

At CNU will be the 2 hard luck teams with Wesley coming to town.

After watching yesterday's game between Wesley and Salisbury I don't see the Gulls having any chance against Frostburg.  The offense is not very good, given 5 turnovers and only scoring 13 points, and depending on the status of the QB who went out in OT, they may even struggle more.  The Gulls only completed 1 pass and that was in OT.  This will go down as a very frustrating season for Wesley.  They are 3 plays away from being undefeated, ranked 5 or 6 in the nation and looking at 2 home playoff games, or 2 plays away and ranked 9-12 in the nation and getting 1 home playoff game, or 1 play away if that was in the Montclair game from having 2 loses but still likely the first pool c team on the board and with a good resume to possibly get in.  On the other hand, they do have 3 loses, and yesterday was a nice snapshot into how the season was.  5 int's, 2 missed extra points and a missed field goal.  Now I will excuse the missed field goal since the Gulls kicker also missed his attempt into the wind along with a missed extra point.  The Wesley missed extra points were due to bad snaps, another issue they had all year.  Next weeks game with CNU should be a good one and a win would finish off a frustrating season on a good note.

Red Hawks 12

What a bunch of BS, we beat Wesley head on and beat Rowan soundly, a team they lose to, we take Frostburg to the wire and lose to Salisbury on a fumble after we blocked their punt to run into the endzone for the win. Last week we received a few votes for top 25, this week none but Wesley receives votes? Along with Cortland? BS

Totally agree and especially with our SOS. Let's end the year with a big win even though it's Willy P and get prepared for next year. In conclusion, "Keep Pounding".
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

have no control over who votes for who.

Caz Bombers

which gets me thinking, what the hell is Willy P's major malfunction? That's one of the absolute worst programs in America.

Good stadium, seems like a pleasant enough location, close to North Jersey recruiting factories. 25 years since their first and only playoff appearance, last winning season same year (1993), not even an ECAC bowl since 1991.

Staring down 26 straight losses when Montclair wrecks them this week. Are they broke? When do they just pull an NJCU and put a pillow over the face of the football program?

@d3jason

They have good young coach and they were more competitive this season imo. Give them some time. I don't think they've gotten of support from their admin in previous years. Hopefully, that's changed.

I totally disagree, I think Salisbury defense gives them a chance in any game. You are correct with your assessment regarding the offense. However, I don't think that falls on the players entirely. I think what Salisbury has a problem is holding back on their offensive call sheet. I think the Rowan game gave the coaches a false sense of security. When I was watching, Salisbury only ran the basic plays and when they did change it up, they tried to go to the well, 1 to many times. Continuing with the offense, this may not be the most talented offense they have had over the year's, but that's when as a coach, you just have to coach better and not force a basic play call sheet, you have to experiment with things and let it all out. Salisbury will continue to move on to the Regents cup and to say we have no chance is Ludicrous and I am shock that you spoke in absolute regarding that. Now we were up 13-0 against you until that RPO pass and the 4th quarter, we clearly looked much better than you all regardless of the offensive struggles. This was game that our defense wrap up and package for the offense, just to stomp on destroy and hand the proceeds to you guys.
