There have been a good number more two back sets this year for Wesley. I'd have to ask Coach Knapp but it may be to help the backs to get to the edge. Drummond  got a couple inside handoffs early. I didn't see him much after that. But when the O line pinned their ears back ther were moving people out. That group of sophs on the O line are coming along.
i agree that Pendleton could be the feature back for the nrxt tree years but I have learned over the years that nothing isever written in stone until it happens on the field. IF this group can stay together on O it could be a special team in the next couple years. There are  a few 6'1,6'2 wideouts waiting in the wings as well as two or more young QB'S. All this is speculation from my observations.

I watched Drew Fry's highlight film and he really looks like another Joe Callahan.  Strong, accurate arm and some serious legs.  Really looking forward to seeing him in action.....You are right, a mature Wesley team can be a beast.

Really hoping that some of these guys pan out and stick around.... Wondering if we will see Fry in action over the course of the next 3 weeks of the regular season...

On the Navy boards (fan forum), we used to joke that every year the most popular guy on the team was the backup QB  ;D

Not much I can say about our win against Kean. We dominated as expected, with multiple players getting touches on offense and 2nd and 3rd string guys getting time on defense and special teams. If I want to nitpick the team, I would start with kickoff coverage. The coverage unit was less than adequate, they didn't do a great job in this area, players did not avoid or when blocked, the didn't redirect to pursue returner. I saw too many guys get walled and then look to the ref for a penalty. It felt like Kean was starting at the 35 or 40 each time they had the ball. Against good teams, this can't happen. Either the kicker kicks the ball out the endzone or pooch kicks for fair catches. I think the defensive secondary, which is giving up an average of 200+ yards has to improve. Although Salisbury dominated the game based upon score, Kean had some success as with many teams through the air. I think if Salisbury wants to get pass the 2nd round of playoffs, they will need to find ways to get to the QB quicker or have DB's recognize routes and cover receivers instead of covering grass. I would like to see more pressure packages to get the ball out of the QB hands, because the current formula will not get you pass the 2nd/3rd round. Overall, I like the the defensive turnovers, it felt like forever since Salisbury had some defensive turnovers and as I mentioned last week on improving in that area, the defense got a key fumble early on that basically ended all momentum for Kean and a interception for touchdown.  Offensively, I like the calls, when it looked like Kean was going to stifle the run, a new wrinkle kept them on their toes. Looking ahead to this upcoming week against CNU, I think CNU is going to throw the playbook at Salisbury, especially from a offensive standpoint. They are going to be playing with some confidence having won their homecoming game this past weekend. If Salisbury defense doesn't get some early stops and CNU can cause some early turnovers, we can have a repeat of 2015, which was  one of the worst games I watch ever.

2004  ;D

This is the time of the year when everyone's looking for that upset that could derail someones season. Christopher Newport has the opportunity to provide just such a shocker. With games remaining against both Salisbury and Wesley the Captains have "spoiler" in their thoughts. Remember last season they lost in OT to Salisbury and beat Wesley. This may not be as strong a team but they're fully capable. I'll be keeping an eye on them.

Probably should have posted that on the ERFP board. I know you guys are certainly aware. :-\

Quite a different team than last year. 7-2 with 2 OT losses. Now 2-5 with Wesley and Salisbury still on schedule with Rowan in between. The potential is that this could be the worst year in CNU history. (4-6 being the only losing season in program history in 2015 - the first year as NJAC members). Injuries and depth seem to be a couple of the major issues. Kelchner and his staff figured a way to defeat the option (at times). The new coaches are 0-2 vs SU and still trying to figure it out.

Looking towards this weekend match-up with CNU, the weather looks to be maxing out at 60 degrees with light winds. No rain and light winds is always a good thing for Salisbury offensive scheme. Also, with this being the last home game of the regular season and Senior Day, I'd expect a good crowd and the underclassman wanting to make sure Senior Day isn't spoiled by the Captains. Offensively, Salisbury has to come out fast, limit those early turnovers and finish drives with points. I expect the Offense to stat true to formula with adding wrinkles here and there to keep opposing defense off balance and give more defensive coordinators something to look at. Defensively, as always, starts with stopping the run, make teams one-dimensional. Next, the defense has to get off the field on 3rd down, especially 3rd and long, have to be mindful of the 10-15 deep outs/post corners. Special teams has to do much of better job on kickoffs and redirecting to pursue returner, would also like kickoff return unit make better contact. Overall, I think this game may be close the 1st quarter, because CNU has always played Salisbury tough. Outside of the 2010, when we won by 48 points, the last 10 year's the average margin of victory has only been 7 and our 3 margin of defeats 8 points. Nevertheless, based upon both teams current production, I'd expect the game to outcome in the range of 45-17, with Salisbury adding two unanswered scores late to pull away.

Did they red shirt him this year?

Adam Turer's article on Wesley does a great job defining the season.  I think Wesley is have one hell of a building year.

There's no red shirt in D3 unless he's injured.

Fry got a few snaps at the end of the William Paterson game. I agree on that. Hopefully the next season or two Wesley will be able to reap the rewards even more.
