What high school?  There is a wide discrepancy among the public/private/charter/Catholic schools?

Parkland in Allentown

Great program.  Best team in the Lehigh Valley region for past 20 years.  Very well coached, and they play one of the toughest schedules in Eastern PA

Nice! Per Twitter, their QB indicated he's going to CNU. Of course, with D3, we wait until move in day to see who shows up!
CNU does a great job recruiting

It's very tough for Salisbury to get back into PA as some of the coaches that had the connections moved on to be head coaches in the high school levels in MD or other areas not in PA. However, I know when we typically grab a young man or two from PA, they are really good and usually start within a year or two of arriving. Also, with how the CC has improved drastically and the numerous D2 schools, spending funds going into those areas probably is too costly, especially when you have the DMV/NJ/Delaware at your disposal.

PA isn't a hotbed for Salisbury given the number of quality D# and sheer number of PSAC teams. Salisbury could grab a few of the border kids (border of PA and MD) but other than that, it's throwing good recruiting money after bad. Stevenson grabs a couple of PA players a year, but not many.

CNU85

I'm assuming the reason for the PA recruit has to do with the fact that the CNU HC was preciously the DC at nearby Lafayette Coilege. He probably knows quite a few HS coaches in the area.

Knowing coaches doesn't hurt. Good way to get some tips. Muhlenberg is right down the road from Parkland
But like most of the D3 schools in Pa kids don't go local. If.they don't give up football and go to Penn State or one of the many state schools. they go away. It's probably close to a 8 hr trip to. CNU from Allentown..Or maybe Va beach being so close.....Most of the kids that go on to college to play football from any Pa school are pretty good

Football !!! The ultimate team sport. Anyone who plays DIII football is a winner...

Understandable that most kids want to go at least a few hours from home. Very few local kids play for CNU. Local meaning Newport News or Hampton (The Peninsula). We get some from Va Beach, Norfolk and up in the Williamsburg area. Williamsburg is considered part of The Peninsula.  The Peninsula area is loaded with quality players and programs. Mike Tomlin is from NN. He was recruited at W&M by the guy who become CNU's first HC. Pretty much if you graduated form HS around here, you graduated with someone who played in the NFL. A few are in Hall of Fame. OF course CNU has no chance at landing those guys, but it just shows to the quality of football here. It's insane. If you consider Hampton Roads area (A metropolitan Statistical Area) that includes Norfolk, Va Beach, Chesapeake, Hampton, NN, Wmsbg and a few other cities, then you can add basketball and baseball to this list of pros.

It's good to see CNU recruiting outside of the state. It's difficult as out-of-state tuition is so high.

Weather indicating partly cloudy in the morning with overcast in afternoon in Salisbury tommorrow.  Looks like good football weather, no advantage for either team. Looking at Union,  they have the ability to both run and pass the ball with a dynamic running back(s) and various types of receivers.  Defensively, they appear to be very stout, having only given up more than 20 only twice in its two toughest games. Looking for Salisbury defensively to first stop the run and limit the YAC, then limit the PA pull up plays and deep crossing routes.  Offensively,  Salisbury has to be committed to its offense and recognize the multiple fronts. Also have to take advantage on clear 1 on 1 situations. Also,  can't have early turnovers. Special teams have to be sound and aggressive and watch out for early fakes and/or momentum fakes when Salisbury is in position to go up two or three scores.  Looking forward to a good game by both teams and as always a W in the Salisbury column.  I predict a 34 to 27 score, with Union scoring late and Salisbury securing a late onside kick.

Pretty specific!  If Salisbury actually secures a late onside kick, I owe you a beer!  I think it will be lower scoring with Salisbury hogging the ball for a win.  Yeah, I am biased, but Salisbury is tough enough to get the credit.

Wesley's game tomorrow will hinge on Fry's game play with which I fully expect him to excel.  He is energizing the WR's and that causes all sorts of problems for the secondary.  If Wesley can keep mistakes to a minimum then I see a win here as Del Val didn't have to deal with a QB of this caliber last time around.  The Weather looks decent as it is with Salisbury, so there shouldn't be too many cold ball mistakes.   The Wesley defense will really need to make some good adjustments throughout the game and cover the ends as I fully expect Del Val to attempt sweeps around the edges.  Really looking forward to this one.

I see Wesley moving on as the Aggies have never quite figured out losing 8 of their 11 offensive starters from last year. The defense is solid, but the offense is suspect. Surprisingly good year by the Aggies given the number and quality of losses (graduation and other) from the 2018 team. The defense brings a lot back next year..................but the offense again loses 8 starters. THAT is tough to overcome in back to back seasons. Good luck to both teams.

Time to find out if the new Wesley offense is what it looked like last week.  Despite the H2H win for Wesley many had decided that Del Val was the better team as the season went on; hard to argue with the way Wesley's offense continued to struggle.  From what I saw last week this game will be different.  Del Val seems to just be OK on offense so they will probably struggle to score like they did in week one; on the other hand I think Wesley will not struggle to score as much as they did in week one.  These games are always tough with Del Val and this one will likely go the same way with Wesley pulling away in the second half.  Wesley 31 - 10.  Will be keeping an eye on Alliance with the hope that NCC can pull off the upset and give Wesley another home game next week.  Good luck to Salisbury against Union.  I am expecting Salisbury to keep firing on offense and pulling away from Union, 38 - 17.  Would be nice for 2 NJAC teams to be in the final 8.  Plenty of good games today with the UMHB/Huntingdon being the only game that doesn't look very competitive.

Ice Bear says you simply cannot continue to compete when you're D is completely ineffective...completely ineffective. All the credit in the world to Salisbury. Just too much for the U.

Ice Bear is still so proud of Union. Especially the offense. They are playing excellent.

IB is also very impressed with the Salisbury announcers. They are classy and are doing a great job. They are even still complementing Union's run D from the season even though their getting decimated today.

A lot of silly penalties, lost red zone opportunities and a fired up Del Val team has Wesley down 17-3 at the half.  The Salisbury game is an offensive circus.....this is why I suck at predicting games.  Hope that Fry can use more of his passing and running in the second half to get the Wolverines back in the game.

Wesley's defense is getting enough stops. Just have to figure it out offensively. Silly penalties have crushed us.

Wesley should come back and win this game at home with a huge, loud crowd. Wesleydad has a 31 -10 Wesley victory. It might not be a 21 point margin (or, it still might), but DelVal has scored 7 more at the half than WD predicted for the game.

Remember, the turnovers have only led directly to 3 DelVal points. The other 14 points were a long and a very long drive. I still have Wesley, beating my -10.5 spread, and winning 31 - 20. This Wesley team has a lot more talent, especially on offense, than this year's version of DelVal. We'll see what the second half brings.......

Ice Bear

Ice Bear says 2nd half seems much of the same...Union defense has no answers...none, for this impressive Gulls offense.

Wheels falling off. Although it is hard to play against the officials too. Missed a lost fumble by the receiver.
