It's been awhile, any inside news on any names or positions that Rowan has filled this year in respect to transfers???

Go Profs!!!

4merprof

What is up with this board.  Am I the only one excited about this upcoming season in the NJAC???  Football camp is two months away and this board is dead.  No smack talking, insider info, or outlooks or predictions at all.

I'll have to get the ball rolling...  My prediction for the Prof's:  Undefeated, National Champs!!!  This is the year that they finally get that monkey off their backs!  With Orihel healthy for his senior year, Encarncion back, and the beast of a defense... The only ones to stop us, will be us!

This should definitely get some responses!!!

Also, anyone have any word if Silva or Wright signed any free-agent contracts or if they were invited to any NFL camps???

PBR...

you have to come thru doylestown to get there!!! dvc has a bunch of starters back and as you say this is the year they finally get the monkey off their back!!!! coach clements will lead dvc to victory!!!  ;D

In reply to Del Val, are you kidding me...  You guys play absolutely no one of any strength all year, and your conference is nowhere near as tough as the NJAC.

Lets take a look at your past history verse the Profs
2004 Rowan 56
         Del Val 7

2005 Rowan 27
         Del Val 21

Not to mention in last year's contest, we were without our all-american DE, QB and Starting superback...  And you had you Knobloch and your all world coach.  Now you think this year, with Knobloch gone, along with your head coach you have any chance of beating the Profs?  No response needed, that was a rhetorical question.

The Prof's road to Salem, will not hit any speed bumps in Bucks County!

Del Val is supposed to have a pretty good recruit at QB from NJ.

My only complaint is that the NCAA should have ruled that the Del Val field was unplayable last year.  Prof players said it was the worst field (condition wise) that  hey played on all year.

rowan did pretty good with our players!!!  ;D you guys taking any other of our starters this year?? LOL....seriously it has been great playing you guys the last couple of years considering where we came from before that. Our field is in the middle of being completely redone from sod to the drainage system underneath it with stone and sand then the new sod being put down. Yes we have a great new qb from new joisey named ken jaworski from bayonne high school who had many div I offers until any injury to his knee. he has a big league arm and with 18 returning starters it should be a fun year. lets meet again to settle it on the field....yes coach mangus did us the favor of recruiting this guy and keeping on board even when he was moving onto middle tenn. st. also mac is a solid conf. lyco and widener are very solid programs. one final point you did not beat us last year we beat ourselves. multiple turnovers after halftime proved that out. it doesnt matter who you are playing you cant turn the ball over 3 consecutive times in your own territory and expect to win especially playing in the playoffs.

4merprof

In reply to you posts.. It doesn't matter what field you play on, because the other team also has to play on the same field.  Making excuses as to field condition is crazy.  I guess when Rowan had the ball, it was like playing on Astroturf.

I'm all about competition, but just like in 2004 when you guys walked through the regular season, the Profs program is just on another level.  I'm sure that you will have a solid MAC team, however it is admirable that you support your team, but you seriously have little chance of threatening the Profs this year.

Finally, I would like to respond to your comment, that you beat yourselves last year.  The turnovers are caused by another team being on the field.  I'm sure in walk through or pregame, you didn't turn the ball over, because you were going against air.  However, when facing the Rowan Defense, you did in fact have a lot of second half turnovers.  I don't think it's fair to say that you beat yourselves, when in reality, our defense stepped up last year and won games for us in the playoffs, because of our crippled offense.  If Orihel and Encarncion were playing in that game, the score would have been as loop sided as it was in 2004.  Last year was you only chance of actually kicking a wounded dog, and you guys missed.

By the way when you say that you have 18 starters returning and a great frosh qb, that might be great for the MAC, but we have almost our entire starting defense back, a healthy Orihel who has three years under his belt, and Encarncion.

I'm sure that our healthy offense is going to come out with something to prove this year, because after watching our playoff games last year, and following Prof football for twenty years, if we stayed healthy, those kids would have been wearing rings right now.

But... I'm starting to make excuses like someone.  LOL!  I apprecaite your responses, because it appears that we are the only ones even interested in football two months prior to the season.

Good luck in the MAC, and maybe you will get another shot to drive down to the boro in November.

PBR...

just remember you brought up the field not me as an excuse for rowans play.... ;D  unfortunately we do seem to be the only ones interested!!!....and pls rowan is not that much far ahead of dvc and the mac. a very similiar case then could be made for rowan and mt. union/linfield. come on you profs i came over here and flame on your board and only 1 prof stands up i was waiting for someone to yell incoming and yet nothing.....

JT

The NJAC board tends to be slow until August.  It is just the way it is.

4merprof

JT,

You could at least get into some debates.

upBeer,

I don't remeber stating anything about the field???  Linfield did spank us rather convincingly, but the Mt. Union game last year would have been completely different if we had our offense not playing the back-ups.  I have witnessed numerous RU/Mt. U games, and we did snap their winning streak, but last years Mt. team was definitely beatable.  I don't think that Mt. Union has the same team that they had in the late 90's and early 00's, but that could be that the other teams are just getting better.  They are still definitely one of "the" teams to beat in the nation year in and year out.

JT

4mer,

I'll get into it from time to time.

I don't think the Del Val score would have been as close had the field conditions been better.  Hurt the Profs speed.

Having watched the Mount Union game in person and watched the Stagg Bowl on TV, I would have expected Rowan to take the title with Orihel at QB in 2005.  But injuries are part of the game.

The real question marks for the Profs is at the Wr position.  Lost a lot.  So we will see who steps up.  Regardless, Rowan is a preseason Top 10 team in my mind. I'm not exactly sure where I'd place them yet.  If the Wr transition goes smoothly, I'd expect the Profs to be the regional favorite.

I also expect that they won't take any team lightly ala Willy P in 2006.

What is going on at Kean?  When are they naming a new head coach?  Is it Garrett (DC)?

Got me. I also heard Hamburger was out (MBB coach) as well, but nobody at Kean seems interested in information.

Definately something funny going on.  HFC was definatley fired.  No one at the school is admitting it.  It all looks very strange.  President is too busy setting up a campus in China.  Maybe they will have parking there.
The only thing I heard was Garrett would be hired if he was "on board".  No one would elaborate on what "on board" means

Reno Hightower

What is going on at that place? Will they ever win?
