As diluted as don hansens team is, lets not categorize all of those players as "all americans".  I mean the guy does have 1st, 2nd and third teams along with honorable mentions.

I wouldnt call them all "all americans"

'gro

lets not forget what I said on the previous page... forget the term all americans.  It's most likely a compilation of all the conference all stars and top 10 performers on the NCAA stat sheet. If Don wants to do it that way, fine (although not very bright).

On the other hand, can't wait to see how many SID's mention their players were on Don's list like it is the most exclusive club this side of the roxbury

As publisher of a weekly newspaper, I must say that any pre-season All-American list that includes NINE of my local team's players (granted, among honorable mentions, etc.) rates right up there with "Who's Who Among America's Brightest Young Things That Have $59.95 to Buy This Book." I, for one, as a publisher, will NOT make mention of Don Hansen's list. Last thing I want for the Alfred Saxons is thinking they're something that they're not.

Like Alex Yunevich used to tell his boys, "Why don't you bring those newspaper clippings to Saturday's game and show the boys from (insert team)...I'm sure they'll be impressed!"

Never was much for pre-season accolades. Granted, they are based on previous performances, but it sets kids up for disappointment. Pride cometh before a fall.

On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

Looks like I really stirred the pot on a lazy quite Sunday.

I like D3 Football and when things got quiet on the NJAC board I tend to see what else is out there on D3 Football.

Pat and Associates do a first class job and congratulations !!!!!!!!!!!

Pre Season is Pre Season. It all starts 9-2-06. Hansen did puff up the list quite a bit, but I'm sure that nobody will get a swell head being nominated. When the season ends and you make the D3 Football.com post season teams then you have something to chirp about.

Is there any tangable info out there on Montclair State University ::)
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Yes, they will finish somewhere behind Rowan this year.  ;D

No really, with Montclair improving and Cortland coming back with a strong team, it looks like we will have a three horse race with Rowan the favorite, Cortland right behind and maybe Montclair shaking things up a bit.  As far as the rest of the NJAC goes, lets just say they'll be fighting for a 500 record.

XREDDRAGON77

Here is some info on Montclair.  On a Western Carribean cruise some guy noticed my Cortland T and came up to me and told me he's a huge Montclair fan.  Seeing what their fan base looks like, I was shocked to find one 1/2 way across the world.

I see there is not a whole lot going on in this room.  NJAC posters, where art thou....What do we have, less than 2 weeks to the start of camp.  2006 Taste IT!

XD77,

I've been getting crap from the NJAC lurkers via email.  WPU football players seem to be extra feisty this Summer...  gotten a few slams from MSU players.... nothing from Kean (although they were the most feisty in 05).

Stop Hanging on Rowan Nuts seems to be the recurring theme.

Or you never say anything good about our team (WPU).  Guess they didn't read the ATR after Rowan lost or saw the game winning WPU photo I took.  These dudes either have short memories or don't know that the rowanfootball.com and the d3football.com are the same guy.... ME!

I generally don't hear from TCNJ, Cortland or West Conn.  Perhaps they know I can quite often figure out names, positions, jersey numbers just from their emails. ;)

Pat Coleman

William Paterson players should be trying to explain why they had to rally to beat HUSSON in Week 11. :)

XREDDRAGON77,

I have also been watching the boad die this past week. I guess once camps open the fear of teams stealing players fom each other will end. I'm talking about the NJ teams. From what I understand you are not officially on the team until you make your dorm deposit. I even took a few shots at Kean to stirr up the NJAC board and to no avail.

JT,

Never realized that you were getting e-mails from players during the summer. I would think they would be from the Frosh. Others should know your work with Rowan and D3. How is Silva doing in Jets camp. Saw his name in the Record when the Jets listed their team last week. Woud be nice to see him make the team.

Can't wait to get this Board get active again.

Nope.  It is generally experienced players.  Certain things they write would only come from an experienced player.  They also try to come off as fans or a friend of a player trying to hide their identities, but it is usually a player.

Maybe I'll go into "How to Decode A Football Player's Email - 101"  for fun.

He had a good mini-camp.  I am trying to get together with Phil to do a piece on him.  Stay tuned.

Since it is lunchtime I'll teach my Player Hater Email Course 101. I'm not going to divulge any technical aspects or programs I may use to uncover the ID of the anonymous player:

In the first place most fans and parents ID themselves if they have legit complaints or questions.

Secondly it is almost never a lineman.  Rule of thumb:  The further away a player is from the ball, the more he talks/writes.  Lineman are usually tired enough from having to do their job.

Third, I have never gotten one from a QB.  They are usually too busy and they are already targets.  Trash talking can only hurt them.

Player speak

1) Derogatory anatomical expressions of a sexual nature ie.,  hanging on, sucking off, being somebody's bitch.

2) Major spelling errors

3) Dropping the "You probably never even played the game" line is always a player.

4) No friend of a player is ever going to know what a coach said at practice or in the lockerroom.

5) Player X sucks because all he every does is hold, push off, clip etc.  is always the player that was getting beat by player X.  Easy to figure out who this guy is.

6) Formations -  most fans and even most parents don't use/understand playbook terminology  ie.,  Cover 2, So and so is our new Mike LB and he's gonna kick your offense's butt.  This is a defensive guy and might be the Mike LB.

7)  Any mention of schooling, owning, housing etc., is usually a DB or WR.  Typically terms used on a basketball court relating to scoring on someone or holding someone scoreless.

8. Email addresses - containing 1 or 2 digit numbers,  positions (CB, LB), descriptive (plymker, cougarstud, trenchgod)

These are some of the major ones.  Every email I get will contain at least one of the eight.

What are you trying to say that football players are dumb?  That's ridiculas!

Don't wory about it man.  You can't please everybody.  If WPU wants you to say something good about them ... they should first, do something good.

Considering the celebrations after the Prof loss at WPU last year, I'll bet the Profs are anxiously awaiting Willy P's visit to the 'boro this year!  Somebody better button their chinstraps ;)

Just keep telling it like it is, JT.  If they like it, fine .... if not, whatever.  Granted, your situation is a little different than mine because of your dual affiliation ... D3 Football & Rowan Foootball.com.  However, on your website, you should be able to say what you wish and, when not speaking in an official capacity on D3football, your opinions should be your own as well.
