Don't wory about it man.  You can't please everybody.  If WPU wants you to say something good about them ... they should first, do something good.

Considering the celebrations after the Prof loss at WPU last year, I'll bet the Profs are anxiously awaiting Willy P's visit to the 'boro this year!  Somebody better button their chinstraps ;)

Just keep telling it like it is, JT.  If they like it, fine .... if not, whatever.  Granted, your situation is a little different than mine because of your dual affiliation ... D3 Football & Rowan Foootball.com.  However, on your website, you should be able to say what you wish and, when not speaking in an official capacity on D3football, your opinions should be your own as well.

Actually, I enjoy it:

1) Because football season is getting closer.

2) I subscribe to the hate me/like me/love me school, as long as you're reading my stuff.

3) I can almost feel them gulp when I respond by calling them by their first name.  I would never rat them out... its all fun.

4) Now if a player is dumb enough to post trash in an open forum like PP, they are fair game.  There will be plenty of PP veterans trying to out the guy.

What are you trying to say that football players are dumb?  That's ridiculas!

No a lot of them write like they text message or speak.  Lotsa slang and stuff. And I know you were joking....:)

Kudos on that list.

The only one I'd add is the classic email or post that reads something like...

"Hey new fan checkin out the site.  Have you guys heard of (insert random player here) for Team X?  I heard he's a monster in the weight room and is really planning to make an impact his first season at X."

More often than not, the guy (or his brother, father, mother, etc) is a freshman or transfer doing his own poorly disguised self-promotion.

NJAC board alive again!

With the preseason less than two weeks away... It's time to put the preseason polls and AA rankings behind us and concentrate on the goal.  I like the current poll on the home page, even though I had a hard time deciding on which one to select.  September 2nd will separate the contenders from the pretenders.  Sounds like a new reality show???

IMO the Profs will have a legit shot at the title this year.  I am curious as to what newcomers will have an immediate effect, as well as what current players will step up and earn a starting role.

I would love to be able to get down a catch a pre-season game or scrimage this year, so if any Prof faithful know of any, please post them.

Good luck to the Profs and the rest of the NJAC for a healthy and productive year.

The road to Salem, starts in 32 days!

rowanprof,

Sorry to see Silva get cut by the Jets. Maybe he can get a chance somewhere else or as the article said, the Jets may call him later. Good luck to him in the future.

4merprof,

Totally agree that you guys are the big dog and have a chanceto go real far this year. Maybe Virginia. Next is Cortland and then Montclair. It's a real stretch, but myabe with one conferece loss we may get to the dance. Iona, Springfield and Salisbury will be the test. If we can go 3-0 you never know.

Like you said it woul be nice to list everyones pratice times and or scrimages so we can get a look. As is the norm for this time of year I have no Idea what is going on with Montclair. Some info on the NJAC home page would be helpful.

Does anybody know when media day is for the NJAC?
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Just wanted to drop a quick line and wish Phil Silva the best.  The Prof faithful are definitely behind him, and completely support him.  Good luck getting picked up by another NFL team.

Hopefully, he will sign with someone else and at least get a shot to play in NFL Europe to refine his skills to the next level.

I believe that he has all of the intangibles that you can't teach... Speed, size, quickness and a great field presence.  If he can work on possibly becoming "crisper" to NFL standards, he will be playing on Sundays...  However, this is my opinion, and recently the JETS have fired me as scout.  But they told me to keep in shape because they might call me back!

Forgot the most obvious:

10) Using their actual student email assigned by the college while pretending to be someone else  ie., mmcfly@wpu.edu

I feel the same about Silva.  I wish him the best of luck in catching on with another team.  The irony is that he is not only a good player but also a fine young man.  Thats something that's missing today with a lot of pro athletes (football or otherwise).  The DIII stigma may be hurting him as well ... you know, the kid can't possibly be any good -- he's coming from DIII.

With the lack of talent at WR in the NFL, its hard to believe that some team won't give him a shot ... or at least send him to Europe for some more experience.

He has that special something that most of the Eagles WRs just don't have .... the ability to catch a football! ;D

Can't believe Thurman Munson has been dead 27 years today.  Man am I getting old.  Thurm belongs in the HOF, but since his career ended too soon he probably won't get there.

RU Fan,

It is.. what it is.. with Silva.  It is definitely difficult to take it to the next level coming from D3.  With a rare exception, almost impossible.  On the flip side, unless your last name is Manning, because I feel that Eli would be flipping burgers if it weren't for his father and brother.  He is terrible, but he has the last name.

What you need to succeed in the NFL, corporate america, or t-ball is a cheerleader.  By that I mean, if someone of clout, says you are good, then you are good.  There are numerous players in the NFL with big names from either college or heritage, that absolutely don't belong.

Take the Eagles for instance, are you going to tell me there isn't a better back-up QB in all of America than Detmer???  My daughter can throw the football better, and has more athletic ability than him.

Once again, I agree with you.  I almost feel sorry for Eli Manning because of how scared he looks behind center.  I love how the Giants keep saying how great he is.  The word "great" is probably the most mis-used word in the NFL..... especially by the Sunday pre and post game "experts" ("experts" is probably the 2nd most mis-used word in the NFL).  By the way, if Eli were flipping a burger, he would probably flip it on one hop to the roll. ;)

But then again, Eli to date, hasn't thrown-up in the end zone with the game on the line like another rather prominent momma's boy QB from the City of Brotherly Love.

Regarding Detmer, my mother always said that if you can't say something nice about someone, say nothing at all.  Hence, I say nothing about Detmer .... except that he can't throw the deep out, has terrible feet, makes bad decisions, fumbles too often and should buy an electric shaver and new car. ;D
