Dan-

Yes, I was at the game yesterday. I ran into you at about halftime, I think. I saw Alex overlook some of the recievers yesterday.

Dan,

I think they did miss rickert yesterday due to the fact that he can run and pass block effectively.  without him you need 2 backs to do the same job... hopefully he will be back next week.

Where are all of the Prof faithful???  One would think that after a win like that, this board would be filled with comments stemming from rt.322.

ACMob & 4merprpf,

Thanks for the comments. This was a big win for the program. It is something to build off. If we can stayed focused and return the favor in Cortland, we can play a major factor in the NJAC and maybe have a meaningful last game in the NJAC.  By the way Rowan looks pretty tough. They appear to know how to win. You guys have a big rival game comming up this week, good luck.

What has happened to this board. It is really quiet. Stalker seems to have disappeared along with Phil and a few others. Let's get the old days back !!!

I've listed the Pick-E'm results from week #4 and the Totals to Date. I will be on a business trip Wed thru Fri. If I can't do the spreads we will have to just go straight, unless someone wants to give it a try. I'll have the games listed today on the Pick-Em Board.
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Rams,

Rival game yes, but this year's game really shouldn't be much of a contest.  TCNJ simply just can't match up with the Profs this year.  Now, I'm never one for looking past an opponent, but I think this coming Friday night will give a lot of the younger players considerable playing time.  I would imagine that this game will be out of hand by halftime.  However, I feel it will be a great opportunity for some of the younger Profs to get some playing time at home, at night, in front of a sell-out crowd.

GO PROFS!!!!

...and once again, CONGRATS to MSU... and Cortland, sorry about your luck!!!

RU Fan

Well, as I said earlier in the week, those yellow RU unis are the color of a   8)School Bus 8) and that School Bus just ran over Robert Morris.  Like all of those kindergarten teachers sing, "the wheels on the Bus go round and round".  That's exactly what happened to RMU yesterday.

Talk about a team that knows how to win.  I agree with 4merProf that this was the most impressive RU win that I've seen and I've seen a lot of RU football.

The defense in the 2nd half, when they started blitzing, finally started to get to Geyer and  totally disrupted RMU's offense. Bond, Tarasevich, Davis, etc. and the whole LB corps didn't give up.  RMU was big and athletic but proved to wear down under RU's pressure.   It was a game of 2 completely different halfs.

Orihel and the offense were outstanding.  They just kept coming and coming.  I agree with 4merProf.... I can't think of another QB that I would chose to run my offense than Orihel...especially at CRUNCH time! (All of my beer-guzzling admirers out in Oregon should love that statement...but its true!)  Orihel's unflapable...calm, confident, deliberate and doesn't make stupid mistakes.  He's developed into a great team leader.  Orihle's using his legs more this year and when they go play action, he's fun to watch.  We knew he could throw but his legs add another dimension.  Just one more thing for the opposing defenses to worry about.

Silva, Wright, the Stys brothers, DImperio, Jenkings, Encarnacion, Richardson..........they were all impressive.  The O line (too many guys to mention) were great.

The Bus is waiting for TCNJ to show up next Friday.

Super job Profs.  You made us all PROUD!

RU Fan

It pains me to say anything nice about Montclair but in the spirit of NJAC loyalty .........great job Red Hawks in bringing Salisbury down to earth.

Its not easy to go into somebody else's house when they are favored and walk away with a win.

Congrats!  Great win for your program!

Buff State is another matter.  How did they beat Cortland or did Cortland beat themselves?  Maybe now Buff State is sorry that they chickened out of scheduling RU during their mutual open date this year.

I was criticized for posting in pre-season that Buff State should schedule RU and give their kids a chance to play instead of sitting on their butts in another bye week.  See Coach, sometimes the kids on your squad have more confidence in themselves than you do in them!

RU Fan,

I also pains me to say something nice about Rowan ;D, but my statement remains, you are a good team and Montclair really made a giant step yesterday. I hope we can really get on each other the week prior to Nov 12th ;).

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Ahhh, so now I know who Dragonflyer really is   ::)

RUFan-

A little bit of both.  Buffalo State came in with a good game plan and a lot of motivation.  They outplayed us. Cortland made some horrendous errors, especially on offense to help them on their way.  But I can't take anything away from the Bengals.  A win is a win.

Jonny Utah

whats with buff sts horrendous uniforms..??? now those are horrific looking, go back to the black or white pants.

gordonmann

Wow.

Now that's what I call safety cone orange. :)

4merprof

I was just watching the Eages game and thinking about the RU game from yesterday and I felt compelled to put down my beer and post again.

When going over the game from yesterday, and thinking about the rest of the season...

One has to be impressed with the effort put forth yesterday by countless RU athletes.

First off... Bond, Bailey, Tosh as well as the entire RU "D" completely stepped up and took care of business.

And with Silva, Wright, Orihel, Encarnicion and D'Imperio, as well as the entire "O" line... The Prof offense is ready to take flight.

In my opinion, yesterday's game was a defining moment for the '05 Profs, and hopefully one that will be considered a turning point on their way to Salem.

I would also like to add, from someone that made a post about the yellow uni's that RU sports and the Uni's that DelVal sports...  Let me put my two cents in and say, if RU has to play DelVal again this year in the playoffs, it doesn't matter if DelVal wears kryptonite colored uni's... They are still going to be embarrassed again this year.

The MAC conference is a joke.. Port from Albright and Knoblauch from DelVal walk though their conferences because they play cupcake squads... And in come cases (Albright) bearly win.

The Profs look forward to the rest of the season turning skeptics like (D3.com) into believers.

Finally the '05 Profs are for real.. They will prove this year that they are no longer the Buffalo Bills of D3.

GO PROFS!!!

Pat Coleman

Skeptics? We rank Rowan No. 5. How is that skeptical?

The NJAC and MAC are pretty much the same in terms of competition level.  Every now and then Montclair rises up to challenge Rowan, but Rowan is the top dog in terms of strength over time.  I don't see much of a difference in Rowan beating New Jersey or Western Conn, and the MAC champ taking down Lycoming, Moravian or Widener.

4merprof:

I'm not sure how much more you want us to recognize Rowan.

Rowan is fifth in our poll.  They are fourth on my personal ballot.  I picked them to beat Del Val last year despite being an eye-witness to Del Val's miraculous season.  And I'd pick them to win again today if the two teams met again.

My remark about the unis was solely prefaced on the colors of the jerseys.  Who knows if Del Val will win their conference or even see Rowan in the postseason?

I know you're pumped about your win over Robert Morris but let's not go crazy.  Did you realize that RMU is 1-2 with a win over Butler?  And do you know whom Butler has beaten?  No one -- not even Albion, a Division III team that is nowhere near Rowan's level.  It's a nice win but I can't see how it comes close to beating Mount Union in Alliance, which was unprecedented at the time.

As for your comments on the MAC's strength, you might be right that the MAC is weaker than the NJAC.  But NJAC loses to Buff State and Frostburg don't inspire me much either.  At this point I'm inclined to agree with Dan on how the conferences compare with Rowan clearly as the best of the two bunches.

Keep taking the "us against the world" notion if that makes you feel better - you won't be the first fan on these boards that revels in this notion.  But we're not "skeptics" of Rowan.  We fully respect the Profs, even with their late playoff flame outs.
