Hmm Congrats on the honors, but I think it's going in reverse for me....I'm sitting on my couch and receiving all-american status.

I'm almost an all-american poster...is that 2000 posts?  or is it 2500 which seems way too far away...after All-American there is nowhere to go!
Everything after is a bestowed upon title from Pat.

I guess that means All-American will be my highest posting achievement lol.

Sitting here as a fan with no team I have been thinking about Rowan v Cortland.  Perhaps everything happening this season is Rutgers fault.  Syracuse used to kick their butts every year, last couple of years Rutgers has been better.  To balance out this horrific rip in the space time continuum sp maybe the football gods have determined that it is time for Rowan to slip and Cstate to rise a little.  Or maybe I shouldn't have had that last JD on the rocks a little while ago.  But my allegiance can be bought for this weekends game, I am open to all offers.

NY is like NJ when it comes to the big boys going smart, playing skuhl, getting football.  We each have only one.

An undefeated Rutgers team is unacceptable??? Cortland fans are a fickle bunch.  Rutgers is one upset away from a BCS bowl. Never thought I'd see the day. I played against Schiano in HS.  He's turned it around.

Last week or so I made a post claiming that Rowan's shortcomings are attributed to Rutgers advances.  The power shift has gone from one RU to another RU.  I have never thought of Syracuse's demise and Cortland's assention as  part of a similar annomolly.  Maybe NY's rise in D3 football as a whole can be the cause of SU's demise although I doubt it.   I am pleased that I may not be the only one out there thinking on another level.

There has been only one Rutgers transfer of note at Rowan, Wr Taman Bryant. He was a LB at Rutgers. I don't think Rutgers will have a big affect on the Profs.  Mount Union is built on the four year guy.  To compete on that level, requires the occasional transfer, but the core is the the four year guy. Since Accorsi took over he has concentrated on recruiting good freshman.

My post was pure sarcasm and based on zero facts.  It may sound good in theory but some theories are proved to be false.

damn, there are ki9ds paying 40 a pop...i got a few xtra, maybe i can sell them for 100 on game day...i agree with the ic guys, these are the people who shouldnt get them, b/c there the a..holes that left last time, giving the rest of us a bad name...i still dont like the way the whole thing is handled...in my eyes, there should be a certin amount givin to each team for alumni who will be at the game, not these fair weahter fans....
No matter where we go, it's about who we are.......C-STATE!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the praise, but Cortland has been very respectable the last decade unlike Rutgers who at 7-5 last year had their best record in over a decade (not that I like comparing 1-A to D3).  As for football gods you've got a wild story.  You nailed it the first time that Rutgers is to blame for the sudden drop by Rowan and right now you can only call it a stumble.  How you might ask?  Easy, transfers.  Rutgers players are not leaving (whether is be grades, rules, P.T., losing, etc.).  And you know if you want to play after transfering to a new school w/o sitting out a year you have to move down in division.  For former Rutgers players this has always been a nice D3 school right down the road.  Just ask Mount U.... its nice having The Ohio State as well as other 1-A hopefuls just around the block.

Packing for my nice 7 hour drive for Sat............  here's an offer for you knightstalk, Respect the C

2drag, NJCU used to get more transfers from Rutgers than Rowan did.  The NJCU team that beat Rowan several years ago had three starters at DB that were Rutgers transfers, they all came in together and played two seasons at NJCU.  Most of NJCU's good running backs, and we had several came from D1 programs.  That is part of the reason Roy Miller or Roy Kotite as we used to call him got canned.  Too bad they never gave a coach Jeter a chance, he was moving in the right direction when they discontinued the program.  He had just gotten rid of the last of Millers players that didn't want to work hard.

Knightstalker is right NJCU had plenty more Rutgers transfers than Rowan.  I can only recall two Rutgers transfers at Rowan that made a contribution.  In fact, I think Rowan had received more impact transfers from the University of Maryland than Rutgers back in the 90's.

XREDDRAGON77

Dating back to 95 the Red Dragons have had 2 poor seasons that ended at 4-6.  Those were in '98 and '00.  Then there were two .500 seasons as well.  98 saw close losses to Springfield in a shootout, 7 to Rowan, and IC we fumbled from the 7 going in to tie at the games end.  Lets not forget a 1pt loss to Brockcport as they were climbing up to dominance.  Shoulda, woulda, couldas, that year.
To be the best you have to beat the best, and when we were an Independant, we played the likes of Rowan, TCNJ, Montclair State,
Buff State, Springfield, and Washington and Jefferson, concluding with Ithaca.  Thats 4 NCAA qualifiers and 3 ECAC Champs. Too many times we came up on the short end of the stick by less than 7 points.  Things have come full circle.
