I still think that the play calling is suspect at best for RU.  Besides the play action call in OT, I thought that the play calling was horrendous.  Why are we trying to throw the ball 50 yards down field to young WR's that aren't ready yet in their careers to make big plays?  Why are we having our QB stay in the pocket and not roll out and get him sacked?

Without those 50 yards attempts, Migs is not wide open in the OT.  Cortland had to respect the outside guys, whom the Red Dragons doubled on that play.  Running on first and second down during the game, set up the OT play action.  Win or lose Accorsi said he is not going back to conservative play calling.  He's going to play Profs brand of football and chuck the ball down the field.  He feels that the coaching staff has done the players a disservice (inexperienced or not) by raining in the offense.

Some of those sacks are from Orihel not throwing the ball away and trying to make play.  I'd expect more Air Orihel as long as the Profs are alive, and some of those balls to start getting caught.

back after a long and painful trip to NJ in which the game could have gone either way.  After looking like the better team (even with the only turnover of the game) the entire first half, just look at the field position, the second half was a different story. Cortland struggled offensively especially to find a QB.  I wont say the could-a's and should-a's as both teams had their chances.  I sure the man in yellow (and boy were they yellow) who wanted the win the most was the poor WR who saw a sure touchdown fall in and out of his hands.  It was a hard fought game and another hard hit loss in the series for the red dragons. Congrats to the profs but as a red dragon I gotta say "do it 2 years in a row Willie P!"  It does lead up to quite an interesting Cortaca game with much on the line for both teams with playoffs in sight.

JT,

I don't want to argue with you, as I definitely respect your knowledge of the game and I do agree that you need to stretch the field occasionally in the first half to keep the defense honest.  But late in the fourth quarter, when you are trying to win the game and keep the defense off of the field, is not the time to try and stretch the field and go 3 and out.  Where the Prof's have had success is when they roll Orihel out and hit the 10 yard pass, and let the receiver run another 5-10 yards, to keep the chains moving, and hopefully go in and score and win it in regulation.

I do agree that if this years Prof team is going to win, they need to throw the ball more.  I know the WR that dropped that long pass didn't want to, and those young outside kids have been trying and getting better all year.  However, with almost an entire year of experience under their belts, it's time for them to step up and start making plays, to make a run at the title.

I agree that a few of the sacks that Orihel took he possibly waited to long to throw the ball, but that's easy for me to say from the stands, when I don't have a 300lb kid in my face.  However, if we were to roll him out, it would give him and the young WR's more time to get open, and more time to complete the ball and make the right reads.

I also wanted to congradulate the Prof's defense for stepping it up in OT.  That was simply awesome.  Heimrel is a freak and then Syed came up huge with the other sack.  Bellamy played awesome and it was great to see Tosh and Bailey back in action after getting dinged up a little of the past few weeks.

The games we've played to this point are behind us, now we need to put it all together.  If we do, this could be an exciting November and December for Prof fans!

4mer,

Nice post. I am in agreement with you (now get up from your chair...lol). By having Orihel roll out and throw to some WRs on some hooks and underneath/crossing patterns, it will make a big difference. These patterns were there all game. I loved the play call in OT.  It's as if the OCoordinator wanted OT just so he could prove what he did all game actually meant something on the TD pass.

The D was H U G E in OT. No letdowns against Willy P.

+k to you.
LONG LIVE THE BORO!

If you do ANYTHING, give it your EVERYTHING!

I think that coaches blaming themselves for the lackluster offensive effort is a big step forward.  I've always respected Accorsi and the other coaches.  If you ask them something, they'll be honest.  I think they've got a good fix on the personnel and you'll see improvement.

You where at the game? What years did u play? I am also going to have to root for willy p this week, it would take a lot of pressure of the dragons if willy p can "shock the world" again this year........

I hope to have the game pics and story up tonight.  I've been going non-stop since the game ended with so many other things.  Hopefully things will settle down by tonight.

Dr.Xgsc,

It doesn't look like I will be able to make the game on Friday.  I think this defense can take the profs deep into playoffs.  With a little luck, maybe the profs can muster a 3 or 4 seed to give us a early frist round game.  We still need to beat Willy P.  I have to believe that will happen.

Jt,
Keep up the good work!

Rowantexan,
Long time no hear.

What is the Cortaca Cup about?  Has to be a good story and some history worth knowing about.

The Cortland fans and parents at the game were class acts and top shelve.

I told several after the game I hope we don't run into them in the playoffs.

What type of injury does Rowan's LB Garren have?

Hopefully Rowan will be playing on the 25th and Please at home.  I have been invited to a Bar Mitzpha (spelling?) for a relative by marriage by my wife's, brother's wife's sister's son.  Got that.  The dad is a Psychiatrist.

Is it ok to give wife a large check and tell her to tell the Doc I got called into work on an emergency?

Speaking of Psychiatrists...for all mem reading this who have children and may go through a divorce.  More then likely if you want custody (remember the money follows the kids and the kids stay in the house) some shirnk will be appointed to do an evaluation and charge $8-10k, you (will the dad will pay) for him and mom's lawyer.

I had 17 evaluations with psychologists and two psychiatrists.  "ogists" make you take pen and pencil tests, draw a family, and tell what the ink blots look like. The "trists" do all the writing, no tests.

After the "trist" gets you name, education, years married and family background (writing on a yellow legal pad) he then asks the big question.....do you ever hear voices in your head?  The guys I met during the process divorce always stated the voices they heard was the wife's nagging.  (bad advice)

I told the "trist" yes.  He sat up, looked at me and wanted what to know what the voices said.  I told hom that this was a "Managed Health Care Problem"  He shrugged his shoulders as to not know what I was talking about.

I told him the voices in my heads spoke in Spanish and my HMO would not allow me to take Spanish classes so I could understand what the voices were saying.  Even if I learned Spanish how would I know if the voices were telling the truth?

So anyway, you may know a man who goes through a nasty divorce to make sure you do one thing.  If mom has the kids and interferes with dad's relationship with the kids, send each kid a card and a check (made out to the kids) for every holiday. birthday, special event, graduation go to all and sporting event they play in.  (Get several disguises wigs, extra large cloths with stuffing and never speak at the events.  However take pictures of each and every event and put them in photo albums.)  KEEP COPIES OF THE CHECKS AND THE CARDS.

The ex told the my daughters I sent them no cards, no gifts and wasn't interested in their sporting activities.

For ten years none of my 3 daughters were allowed to come to Rowan events.  My two oldest have seen the photo albums and all the cancelled checks and copies of cards with the date under "Love Always, Dad."

The two oldest have nothing to do with their mother.  My ex is no longer involved with our grand daughter.  Hopefully my youngest will ask to see the album, cards and cancelled checks.

There is a big guy (or gal) up there in sky that gets you through the toughest of time.

Hopefully both of them will come to game Friday night.

Or it may be 11 big fast dudes on Rowans defensive unit. ;D

The voices thing, that's another issue. ???

5Reasons

All I know is this: if Kean wins, the Cougars should be bowl bound. I don't care what bowl it is or how far they have to travel, but I'll be there. For a team that was predicted to come in last, this has been an amazing season. Then again, I never thought they would come in last. They were 4-6 last year with 3 close losses.

Prof Posters:

First off, "Congratulations" to Mike Orihel for breaking Hesson's touchdown passing record.

Orihel got smacked around the whole game and just kept on ticking.  He's one tough dude.

I agree with all of you Prof fans.  Rolling the QB out is what the coaches should have been doing all year since the O line has had problems protecting him.  The hooks, quick slants and crossing patterns have been open all year.... the coaches just weren't calling them.

I also agree that you have to stretch the field but it would be nice to catch one or two of them along the way.  As 4merprof said, its time for the WRs to step up as they now have 8 games under their belts and the playoffs are looming in the near future.

Another great game by the defense, keep it up guys! 8)

After winning last year, Willy P will be up for this game.  Let's get back to business and  keep the NJAC title in the 'boro.

Great effort last week, Profs. ;)

P.S.:  Sorry to hear about Garren's injury.  Hope its nothing serious!

Garren has a slight tear in his groin.  Has probably had it all year.  He's done for the year, about 6 weeks to recover.  Freshman Andrew Yezzi has done a good job.
