Thanks for the correction. Did this happen within the past week or so?

As Gordon notes, it's not that new.

The original schedule came out 3-29-07 and the up-date came out 4-20-07. I did not notice subject to change on the original and just assumed. We all know where that get you.

How good is Rowan goin to be in 07 I think this is the yr that CNU beats them!

I would love to see Montclair and Wesley do battle. Let's do a one game deal and flip a coin for home field. It's the same distance as going to Cortland. Would it be possible for Coach G. and Coach Drass, to as they say Get'er Done.

Wesley and Montclair had a couple of good ones in the late 90's.

That would certainly add more to a tough opening month for Wesley

Coach Drass e-mailed me this morning to say Montclair State is coming to Wesley on Sept. 22. Good job, those on here who noticed the open date.

And the Wesley web site was updated to that fact today.  Man It's going to be tough to choose my trip days this year!!! I always look forward to seeing new teams.  But with Del Val right up the road from me a logical trip and Widener a Friday nite game close to home and home coming. I am going to have to get a lot of brownie points stored up...

That is a well-respected in-region game!

Congratulations to Coach G. and Coach Drass for getting it done.

You can make an argument that Montclair may have the toughest D3 Football schedule in the country.

I'm hoping as a fan that we can go 2-1 or 1-2, keeping the loses close in the opening (3) games, and we may be able to win the NJAC with Cortland and Rowan re- tooling.

In any event this will be one heck of a challange for Montclair.

well - D3 Polls (except d3football.com) always have to be taken very lightly...especially ones that come out in June.  But, nonetheless, Lindys came out with theirs.

3 E8 Representatives...none of whom wear Bomber Blue.

Lindy's poll: 1. Mount Union; 2. Mary Hardin-Baylor; 3. Wisconsin-Whitewater; 4. Trinity (Texas); 5. Wesley; 6. Hardin-Simmons; 7. St. John's; 8. Rowan; 9. Central (Iowa); 10. Bethel; 11. Capital; 12. North Central; 13. St. John Fisher; 14. Springfield; 15. Wheaton; 16. Wabash; 17. Wartburg; 18. Washington and Jefferson; 19. Wilkes; 20. California Lutheran; 21. Baldwin-Wallace; 22. Alfred; 23. Hobart; 24. Whitworth; 25. Wisconsin-LaCrosse.

always starts some interesting banter though.

Hi Everyone,
Took this from the Empire 8 Board and thought maybe the NJAC board can come to life a little. I realize that the Lindy Poll is no way compares to D3 Football.com, but when you need a D3 Football fix, anything will do.

Wesley - A real good team, that get stomped in the cold and frozen Semi's. I know that's the way the game is played, but how would they have faired if the game was at home. They should be in the playoffs again. Drass does a good job.

Rowan - I thought Rowan will have to re-tool a little, but it is a well coached program, and they know how to win. History dictates that they may have to re-build for a few years, but I can't count on that. It is always a game I can't wait to go see. Whatever you can say, they have to be the pick for the NJAC till someone knocks them off.

Springfield - Their QB is back and they are always very good on Turf. Another well coached program.

Wilkes - Another well coached hard nosed program. They are always in most games and a tough team to beat. They also have a little re-building, but solid programs always do well.

By now you can figure that these teams are on that Montclair State schedule this year. You may disagree with any of the positions, but they should all be in the Top 25. Then there is Cortland. Could be the toughest schedule in all of D3 Football. It's a tall order and 2007 should tell the story for our program this year and into the future.

Just read St. Peter's release itself today regarding football -- hadn't seen anything aside from the wire story. Interesting quote:

"It is too difficult for Saint Peter's College to become competitive in football. Recruiting in the area is nearly impossible without giving athletic scholarships due to the very strong NJAC schools and other Division II schools in the area," remarked (athletic director Bill) Stein. "In addition, we have no on campus facility and its becoming tougher to schedule opponents that are at our level of competition."

I have a feeling that their basketball team runs that athletic program....

BB is the money sport.  But having to share a facility with HS teams certainly doesn't help a football program.

Division II schools in the area that offer football?  I can't think of any.
