I called that 2001 game and I don't recall it being a late hit either.

Pat believe me when I say that I am one of your biggest fans, and love what you have done for the sport that I played...I must dissagree though,  as a former player I always looked at the scoreboard, with all of the confusion that goes on checks, fronts, re-loads, down and distance...Same with coaches for personal down and distance, percentages.....Its not only for fans, I guess this is a lesson learned, however the refs did not do a good job of making sure that the coaches new the timeout situation, if they did I can assure they would have not lined up in victory formation, "taking a Knee" with Wesley having two timeouts left.

Well, the scoreboard is not official. I don't know what to tell you. If you rely on unofficial info, that kind of stuff is going to happen.

Down and distance is also unofficial. I would always take my own eyeballs on the sticks over the scoreboard.

Dear Pat Coleman,

The scoreboard is always official and the official time is never wrong.

Wow where do I begin, I kind of got hit from all sides. Pat I don't want you to tell me anything lol, I am telling you as a former player  and I think I speak for a lot of former players that are on the post when I say that we all use the scoreboard as a reference. Once in a while you will have a ref pop his head in and say "hey guys I have the official time, the clock is off by ten seconds" same with timeouts. However clearly the refs did not do a GOOD JOB of relaying the message to the coaches about the timeout situation or they (Montclair) wouldn't have been in Victory formation... Guess this is a learning experience for everyone that the scoreboard is for fans only, if you have any questions about score, time, or timeouts wait and ask the refs.

Maxpower-Although I am a rookie to d3, I honestly feel I read the same post every year; be honest you definitely have that blog saved on your computer, especially the George Brett comment. As for the cursing, I thought I did a pretty good job of laying the sarcasm on pretty think. I was referring to the "F" word as the alleged curse word and saying "now I know your telling fables" lighten up buddy its hump day!!. Guess I didn't do a good job, if you read the guys post it was comical, "some defensive coach was saying the F word" and it was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to control the game clock, my job is stressful little things like that make me laugh, so sure ok the f word may have been used.

2003 I stated previously I didn't remember the exact situation, hahaha umm no the play by play won't be necessary, thank you though not one for nostalgia. To be honest with you if my coach had a problem with it I do to! I don't think it was necessary to run that play, and G definitely thought it was uncalled for and unfortunately things happen, from what I remember though it was resolved after the game. Coach Giancola is one of the most well respected coaches in the Country. I certainly don't think you're in any position to refer to him as a cry baby, and if you ever said that to my face about my coach we may have a "George Brett" situation lol, jk man I dish it I can take it

2003 yes I agree it was a very late hit, it was unfortunate I can't speak on behalf of the player that did it. I don't think that reflects MSU or our program, why you always bring that up is beyond me. In 2001 the other playoff game DEFINETLY NOT a late hit, I was a freshmen at the time playing special teams, I remember that play like it was yesterday first of all when you run option, the QB is very susceptible for a defender to really land a clean shot. A defensive player is aloud a step and a half, as soon as he pitched that ball he got caught and it was loud. Omar Lucas was the person who hit him, 1st team All American Linebacker. I have no problem whatsoever telling you if it was a late hit; however that is text book for how you want to defend the option.

The other incidents I really don't have a comment on, they must have been pretty bothered by something though to have reacted like that...Once again those aren't reflections of MSU as a school, an athletic dept and certainly not our football program. Don't forget to save the post to your word doc, wouldn't want that fine piece of writing to be lost!!

                                           GO RED HAWKS!!!!!

How many incidents do you have to admit happen before you admit it reflects on MSU or its Athletic Department?

This is the equivalent of arguing:

-Sure Bengal #1 got arrested for (insert felony here), but that is just one person and doesn't reflect on the Cincinatti Bengals as a whole.

--Sure Bengal #2 got arrested for (insert felony here), but that is just one person and doesn't reflect on the Cincinatti Bengals as a whole.

-Sure Bengal #3 got arrested for (insert felony here), but that is just one person and doesn't reflect on the Cincinatti Bengals as a whole.

-Sure Bengal #4 got arrested for (insert felony here), but that is just one person and doesn't reflect on the Cincinatti Bengals as a whole.

etc.

Wow!! So you're telling me that isolated incidents which include a late hit, and the other involving two very passionate coaches letting a situation get the better of them compares to that Of a DWI, Gun Charge, Assault and Battery??...Hahaha is this part of the "hey its Wed Hump anthem" and you were trying to add a little comedy to the forum? If so job well done bc I am laughing....

I don't know, seems to me if I didn't take a lot of time making these arguments, I might come off as a moron and perpetuate false information. Like in the post I responded to. So... is that encouraged on the NJAC board?

See... again, it's pretty obvious Jose was comparing the argumentative tactics used and not the incidents in question. I know you made fun of me for having a long-winded response, but if you took more than one and a half seconds to think about things we could probably save a lot of space here.

Any thoughts on the up-coming TCNJ game? You can basically throw the records away. We have to come out hard and fast and keep it up. 110% for 60 minutes. Take a little nap and you can be on the wrong side of the score. There is no love lost between these 2 football teams.

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The team has to play hard again this week to keep their momentum, both sides of the ball. If everyone does and gives a 110%, we can walk away with a win. Again, I love night football, just a whole different atmosphere, cool weather and the Red Hawks hitting hard.!!!

Rams

Thanks buddy....big game this week, word is TCNJ has gone from their traditional 2 back pro set to a 5 wide no huddle offense...Whenver we played against them it is always an exciting game, and they always have a pretty good turnout...We have to start the game right where we left off!

I was talking to one of the Wesley coaches while we were al patiently waiting for the refs to show up, he stated that the person who assigns the refs for the games was to blame. I stated that you would have thought the AD would have touched base with the powers that be during the week to make sure all was kosher ???
Moving on, both teams played a hell of a game, and i hate to keep harpiing on this, but I stated in my very first post that the O-line needs to step up for us to be successful, Wesley's Defense basically shut us down in the 2nd half. Thanks to special teams plays we had the run back at the start if the 2nd half.
I'm by far, not bashing MSU, it just at times they scare me and i'm to old to be having a heart attack at a footbal game. ;D ;D
I think the boys have a ton of confidence going into Ewing on Friday, I love night football games and can;t wait.

Hey RAMS  was that you in the white T-shirt, with your daughter? If so we spoke briefly.

C you all on Friday !!!
