I was expecting a 10-6 affair, was actually more entertaining than I figured. Lions Offense pretty much did nothing in the 1st half, but in the 2nd they started to mix up the run and pass nicely and gain some yards. Of course filed position helped - they aren;t going to have too many 85 yard drives. The "D" of course was their strength again - put loads of pressure on the Pioneers QB. They gave up a few long plays, but another solid effort. There were a couple of wild special teams plays - NJ punter boomed one over the returner's head, was downed just outside the goal line. WP blcked a punt and returned it for a TD. Still can't believe we are 5-1, but I'm loving it.

wow cortland scores on the last play of the half but a flag brings it back and they score with no time on the clock on the same play!!!

I turned the web cast at just before 1/2 time and Wow....3?-13 with a few lelst in the game. I was feeling a bit footballed out but the Dragons have me fired !

Bliss played well in spurts, but overall he was hemmed in. I think he ended up with 89 yds on 27 carries, so less than 4 ypc. Regarding the end of the first half...

Miles threw a bomb touchdown to Guaragno in the end zone. The play was called back because of a motion penalty. So they moved back 5 yards, Miles got flushed out of the pocket, and once again threw long to Guaragno who brought it down in the end zone. The kid is a stud receiver. He is going to be a star for us next year, if not by the end of this season.

The game was a lot closer than the score indicated. MSU looked good on offense, but with Cortland shutting down the run Jump had to keep throwing. Eventually he was going to get into trouble, and he ended up with 3 INTs.

It looks like Cortland's title hopes come down to 2 games...at TCNJ and vs. Rowan.
