So if anyone in the East was better than the "Bills" they should have done it on the field.

Absolutely.  Well said.

Also remember that one of the best shots Rowan has had was stolen by the officials in 2001.

Not that Tom is bitter, or anything.   :D

phil

...you mean back in '01 when the East was so cruddy that Rowan barely beat TCNJ 28-27 and lost to Cortland 32-31!

If not for a 2 pt. conversion which was stopped on the goal line against the Lions who knows what poster might still be lamenting the "special" skills exhibited by the Bridgewater timekeeper four years ago!

JT

Well of the 5 official shots at the title and that 2001 shot being the 6th, I like my chances very much.. thank you.  Especially after watching the Stagg.  Mount couldn't take away everything... too much talent... too much speed.  It was the best shot that never happened.

NCAC ref bastards!

JT

phil,

Back then Rowan always seemed to squeeze out a few against the NJAC.  Then they put it together in the playoffs... 48-0 against a good Ithaca team. The Profs were up 17-0 before the monsoon against B'water.  Rowan was on a roll that unfortunately was stopped by the officials.

The dry Stagg night would have brought the title home to NJ.  I wish I could forget it but I can't.

Be careful!  If you disagree with Phil, you'll  get chastized by his fan club and be called a non-academically oriented, football monger.

Also, you as an RU supporter, will likely receive the other added benefit of a bunch of negative karma.  Seems to run in our mustard and brown veins (or was that mustard and brown colored glasses that I was accused of???).

Just check out AC Mob, 4merProf and me!  Its a veritable RU negative karma epidemic!   Hmmmmmmmmmm ???

God, I love this place ;)

Mercy! Sounds like you've got a terminal dose of the colic.

So we're cancelling the Kleenex shipment and instead sending you a new playpen and a three-month supply of disposable diapers.

Get well soon ....

Dan, I meant over the history of the nfl and d3football.  Ithaca is like the Miami Dolphins or Oakland Raiders and Rowan is the Buffalo Bills.  The Atlanta Braves did win it once anyway.

I'd put RPI in the DJAC anyday. The talent they've had over the past few seasons could hang in that conference. Sure they might not have the record that they've had in the UCAA/LL but they wouldn't be sweeping the basement either.

Each week its fun to read the around the east column and see how far you have to read before there is a reference to Rowan. 1st sentence this week.

Yes I know the guy went to Glassboro, yes I know the DJAC is the conference he knows the most about, yes I know he runs a rowan website. But must we be reminded of Rowan's greatness EVERY week?

riddle me that

JT

Enginegro,

Well I won't be writing about them this week because they have a bye  ;D   I'll be writing more about other clubs now as teams are starting to separate and compete for playoff bids.

Only Ithaca seems to get regular coverage.  It would help me if other NY teams got more press.  Also Hobart and Cortland are the only NY schools that send me news releases.

Good gravy colored uni's Batman! I was just pointing out in my post that the NJAC was quite strong the year that many of you Rowanimals thought you should have won it all! My post goes back to EngiNegro's earlier claim – and my reply that RPI would have had one playoff appearence over the last 5 seasons ... if they were lucky. Hell, I thought Rowan might have won the national championship if they didn't get the shaft against Brigdewater too.

You are just too much. Chill out, all the world aren't members of the B & G club. Why don't you let some of us make a point without having to strap on some Rowan pom-poms.

Sensei Coleman says you reap the karma which you sow.

JT, no problem... I know covering the contenders takes top billing.

I see the Union DE who's father may or may not post on this website got some props in around the region. I hope daddy's proud now. Is the cast on the hand really a big deal? maybe if he was a WR... or a pianist.

Senor RedTackle

JT,

I'll make sure you get RPI news release...where you want them to go?

I didnt even know RPI had a football team?
