With their enrollment numbers, which for some strange reason skew heavily towards males who play football, they should just erect a permanent display of their national championship hardware in front of their admissions office with a sign saying "The road starts here!"

It's nice to see that MUC scored a mere 59 points this afternoon. Sixty would have been way over the line, I think ....  ;)

Since TCNJ is only gaining 46 yards all day and Mount's 2nd and 3rd teams are in the the 3rd quarter it could have been worse, much worse. TCNJ has a good defense but they were completely worn down and frustrated. Mount did a good job of keeping it in the 50's.

It's nice the NCAA allow Mount to have more than 52 players today so that they could play their third unit.

RE: TCNJ and late hits

1) MUC got a few unsportsmanlike flags themselves today.

2) I seem to recall Mount players being far from angels in 2005 when I was on the field taking pictures.  The Raiders talk trash as well as any team I've ever heard.  So maybe the late hits and shoving by TCNJ was deserved.  Especially at 56-7.

3) And Alliance Ohio posters have no business stereotyping NJ players.  I've been out there, don't get me started.

It was unfortunate that the game got away from TCNJ.  Many good teams and coaching staffs have been made to look very pedestrian against Mount Union.  Ref: The 66-0 shalacking Bridgewater took about five years ago.

JT,
Tough game yesterday, but I knew going in that unless TCNJ could sustain a few drives to give the defense a rest it was going to be an impossible situation. Add in the loss of their #1 receiver last week and I expected an ugly game. Still, great year from a team I didn't expect to reach .500 this year.

Then there are the posters from bucolic Alliance. I only hope that the prototypical "Italian thugs" who were taught by the "joke of a coaching staff" made their cheap shots count because if the players in purple were as yappy and low rent in victory as the posters who spewed some of the gems above, they certainly deserved a shot or two in the chops.

Why does the movie "All the right moves" with a young Tom Cruise pop into my head everytime I ruminate on MUC and Alliance? ;)

Phil, "Ampipe, PA" is nothing like Alliance Ohio.  You should think more "Hoosiers" when you talk about this place!

And I was suprised to see a few of these random drills on private farmland!

Ouch! Podunk without the motivational music and basketball montage...

Did you know that the Ampipe QB in the movie was actually the starting QB at Montclair State?!

You mean it was an NJAC guy that fumbled the snap that could have sealed up the game!  :)
6-2 Stack Monster was nasty.....

Walter Briggs didn't fumble the snap - he muffed the handoff to the FB. But we all know it was Coach Nickerson's fault for not calling for a knee with 2 clicks left on the clock from the one...

Briggs' teamate was Sam Mills.

6-2 Stack Monster, +K for that, I haven't heard that term in almost 30 years.
