Well Happy New Year everyone !!!  Awful quiet on here since football ended. Next week MSU has their awards dinner, and it should be fun. They will be picking the captains for next years team.
This year they are graduating some seniors that will be missed, Vicardipane, Mc Coach, Commune,Ajadi and Jump to name a few. Who is going to step up and fill their shoes and what can we expect form the players  moving into new positions.?

lets get your thoughts,,

Happy New Year to you too !!!

We are losing a lot, but that is what good recruiting and coaching are about. I heard at the Albright game that we may have a good QB coming in. I did not press the source, but he should know what he is talking about. We had 2 hick-ups last year. TCNJ and Cortland. When you don't play at 110% for 60 minutes good things usually do not happen. Any thoughts on who our out of conference opponent will be and does anyone know the schedule? I could use a little football fix right now.

I heard the same rumor about a QB coming in too, kinda let it slide, cause see'in is believe'in.  I think its a litle to early for a schedule yet. As far as filling the voids left by this years graduates, I think Bliss is a good back and we know he can find openeings and once that happens he's gone. D'Andrea should get some time also, kids shows some skills.
Fullback position, gotta go with Scott, I think that kid is a sleeper, and will show a lot of skills this year, especially if they throw to him out of the backfield, has hands like glue. A  last thought and I always add this to most of my post, the O-line needs to play tough for MSU to be successful
Anxious for the fall.!!

Well last night, despite all the wonderful weather, I was lucky enough to accompany some friends to the MSU Football Banquet. After a late start and some good chow, all types of awards were given out. Every player there received acknowledgement from the Coaches. Coach G reminded the players the need to focus and stay focused on what they want to accomplish this coming season and if they do that, success will be achieved.  Some really nice trophies and placques were given out, especially the Defensive (Hunt ) and Offensive ( McCoach) awards

They did name the new captains for next year:  Hunt, Scott, Mercer, Giangrande and Letizia

Come on August !!

Got a little D3 fix the other night. Buff St., Morrissville, W.Conn and Rowan released their 2008 schedules. So far for us :

9-20   Morrissville (A)
10-18 Buff St. (H)
11-1  W.Conn (H)
11-8  Rowan (H)

Any ideas who the out of conference game will be. Since (4) of the NJAC teams are scheduled, I would imagine that the others are also done with the exception of the (1) out of conference game if they choose to play (10) games.

We need some O Line and D Line help and if we get the QB trans we may have a chance to have another good year. I know it a tall order, but you gotta believe !!!

I would like to hear any input.

You can now add Brockport. Sept 27th  at Sam Mills Field.

This board is really in Rip Van Winkel mode.

Is anybody alive and have any comments on the NJAC. I know it's early, but what the heck.

Looking forward to joining the NJAC.  I remember MSU and Brockport had a few games earlier in the decade. Hopefully the Golden Eagles can add some more competition to the Conference.

Brockport has played most of the NJAC teams recently.  In 2003 I broadcasted a game from Kean, so they've played them once... Cortland/Buffalo state are already Rivalry teams... Morrisville actually beat Brockport last year. Rowan has played Brockport numerous times in the decade.  TCNJ and Brockport have played numerous times, including an epic playoff-atmosphere like game I broadcasted there in 2003.  Western Conn and William Paterson are the only unfamiliar opponents, I think.

All in all I'm glad that Brockport is part of a conference with an AQ now, especially with such competition.

B-Port is a very tough team. My daughter went to Wesley for 1 1/2 years before I took her out due to academic BS. Wesley is a good school, but the Adjunk was an a-hole.

I had a business trip in Up-State NY and went to the 2001 Wesley - B-Port game. Drass blew that one, but boy those Up-State boys are tough and well coached. It really felt great to take my daughter to the Wesley game this year, as you know I'm a Montclair wack-o fan. Lot's of drama, but a great ending.

Looking forward to having B-Port in the NJAC, a good team with great tradition.

Hanging in there.  Hoping to find time for a site redesign.

Nice to see the Montclair Schedule released :

Home - Wilkes(9-13), B-Bort(9-27), Buff St(10-18), TCNJ(1--25) and Rowan(11-8).

Away - Morris(9-20), WP(10-4), Cortland(10-11), W.Conn(11-1) and Kean(11-15)

Are there any thoughts and comments on new players? Especially on the O-line, D-line and QB. Is this a step back year to re-build? Or is 8-2 or 9-1 in the cards?

Well I hope its not a rebuild year !!  Team still has a lot of talent IMHO, backs, receivers, O-line and D-line. Its just a matter of these up and coming players to prove themselves.  QB, still haven't heard who, what or where ?

Lots of speculation going on in the  general boards about the Empire 8 opening  invites to non conference schools in NY and CONTIGUOUS states for football only..
Football !!! The ultimate team sport. Anyone who plays DIII football is a winner...

Me too, about the re-building year !!!

It's funny, because everything is mum in the NJAC until camps open. We just have to keep the faith and let Coach G. and crew do their work.

I plan to miss only (1) game this year. College reunion in WVa. for the Cortland game.
