Results from Week #3 are posted on the Pick'Em Board. Way to go pgo4, very impressive. Your green and gold put a hit on everyone. Waz-up with that.

Darned if I know.  I would have figured they would have lost to Willy P way before they lost to Frostburg.  Hard to understand.

Hey Red Hawk Fans : The AFCA Coaches Poll has us ranked #26.

I know that you really can't  take a lot of validity in the Polls till about week 5 or 6,
but it gives us a little something to be proud of. Also it gives some incentive for the up-coming home game against B-Port. All we could ask for is a meaningfull game when we travel to Cortland in 3 weeks and one never knows. Keep playing every game like it is your last one, 110-60 and "Keep Pounding". See everyone at the Train Station and Sam Mills Field.

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big game this week.....We are going against a very big Brockport O'line, they may be big however, I do not think they are ready for the team speed we bring, Agresta (defensive coordinator) has these boys swarming around the football. If Brockport thinks they will be able to establish a run game against us, they will be looking at 3rd and long for four quarters.

+K Dave.  I have a feeling the MSU-Cortland game will be a big one indeed.  We have a huge one this week on the road at Kean.  I still don't think the winner of this conference will run the table - too much competition, too many land mines.

Dan,

You guys indeed have a tough one against Kean. They are tough to figure our. Last year they came out great, fell asleep and then beat TCNJ at the end of the year. There is no love between MSU & Kean + they are our last game on their home field. In my Pick-Em's I don't know if you can cover the 7.5 spread, so I split my pick. Logic says you should win by 7+ but that's why we play the game. We must be very careful w/B-Port and get our "O" rolling. We will see.

The lack of participation on this board really scares me. Last week shoulf have been crazy here with Cortland / Rowan. Rip Van Winkle was more like it.

Good luck to you guys this weekend.

I remember Kean from my days in the late 90's as one of those teams that you could not get a beat on.  They were all over the place and at times you thought they were making things up as they went along...on both sides of the ball.  Regardless, we always nabbed the "W" and I anticipate another this season.

I do wish this board were more active.  We have a couple MSU and Cortland Posters, the occasional Rowan Poster, and me.  We need some WPU, Buff State, Morrisville and Kean posters here!!

XREDDRAGON77

I recall when this board was still young, a few Cortland players who were fired for disciplinary issues used to spew all kinds of filth.  It made us Cortland guys all look bad.  I am sure Coach Mac dropped the hammer since then with players posting....this being in like 2001 or so.  Anyway, that was years ago and the Cortland posting has never really picked back up.

True.  Phil represents TCNJ on the board.  We've had short-term participants from the Kean community but nothing sustained.  We've had colorful participants from West Conn but not since their Freedom Football Conference days.  This board has been most active when Rowan is good and draws the attention (and ire) of fans in other conferences.

But all you can do is keep trying and see who else engages in the discussion.  It wasn't that long ago that Rams was the only MSU poster.

I'm around.  I need to see Rowan in action in order to see what direction they are headed. 55 new football players in 2008, six seniors on the team. I'm planning to see them on Saturday.

I keep showing up in Salem every year and those West Conn fans never seem to make good on their threat to show me who's the boss. :)

Pat,

Is there any way the conferences could implement putting up signage around their respective stadiums on game day with regards to d3football.com as well as "post patterns." Maybe it would drum up some more interest to the fans?? I saw Ben Bersiqua <- I just killed his last night, anyways I saw Ben towards the end of the summer working out at West Orange High and I informed him that his name was being mentioned on d3football.com in the post patterns forum, he had no idea what either of them were...

My point is, being in marketing what it comes down to is brand awareness (d3football being the brand) creating a buzz, name recognition. What if they did a trial run in the NJAC for two weeks, every stadium would have banners on-site with www.d3football.com, as well as having students passing out fliers with the same... Under it some type of slogan with regards to blogging for your team in post patterns section.

I really think word of mouth works in this case, if I may add my 1.5 cents (not enough for 2)
Brand awareness is fine, but the web site gets around pretty well. People involved in d3, including players, coaches and fans all know d3football and all the d3 sites.

And Post patterns isn't really blogging... the daily dose is.

RedHawk

Look at how far the board has come by word of mouth, think of where it could go with a little on site advertising. Like I said just a trial run for every team in the NJAC to put up signage around their stadium for two weeks, I think it would generate a nice little buzz, couldn't hurt to try. The opening game at Montclair had a decent amount of fans, not sure of the exact number I would have to ask Mr. Michael Skala, obviously we have Dave who is a lifer, and also in attendance were plenty of students, friends and family. I would bet a decent amount of them are not aware of this site, target the students get them involved, think of a fun slogan, and get them on here having some fun, if five to ten new members join from each team in the NJAC, I would say that would be a positive ROI.
