What are Cortland's chances of beating Rowan this weekend?

Slim?
None?

Long trip up there.

After Cortland, I'm not seeing anyone with a winning record on their schedule.

Jeez, what's with all the hating on the NJAC..... :-\

Montclair could go into Rowan above .500

You should learn what the term "tongue in cheek" means lest you stick your foot in your mouth.

Phil

As Harry Truman used to say, "If you have nothing to say, say nothing!"  You should take old Harry's advice.

Come on, you should be able to come up with a post a little more meaningful than the above listed.

I guess I'm not as witty as you are when it comes to "tongue in cheek" comments.  You da man .... in your own mind.

Speaking of foot in your mouth, examine thine own conscience, sir.  When you're not posting your self-serving jabs at people, you're sucking up to all of your "admirers" with posts that are as transparent as they are embarrassing.

You've got me fooled! :o

You just can't get away from attack mode, can you?  Well, if you insist, I'll graciously respond.  Get ready, with your posse, to start your crying.

Dr. xGSC

Gro,

There is a Micah Sugg (no s) that works for Murray State. Just thought it was you. Have you gotten used to grits yet?
LONG LIVE THE BORO!

If you do ANYTHING, give it your EVERYTHING!

'gro

I may have to find this sugg cat, drink a few beers with him, then smash the mug over his head. Who does he think he is stealing 98% of my name? It's not like my name is john smith or anything.

I'm not big on grits, or sweet tea... I'm convinced the tea leads to diabetes. The south is driving up healthcare costs!

Reno Hightower

Cortland did beat Rowan a few years back at Cortland. Great game if I remember correctly!

phil

Reno
Rowan has had their problems with Cortland over the last several years and always seem to throw in a clunker of a game during the regular season. This year it might be at Cortland – or it could have been two weeks ago against TCNJ...

I'd give Cortland a definite chance against Rowan, but whatever happens I still think the success of the Prof's season will be determined by what they do in the playoffs – and they will be in the playoffs no matter the outcome in Cortland.

Hmmm, so my posts are self-serving Dr. Freud. :'(  Do tell. I just figured you might need a helping hand in figuring out when some of the LL boys are funnin' you. But since you seem to think it's you and Rowan against the world in every post in every forum in every region – have at it big guy! You're going to need a new keyboard and a manicure once both are warn to the nubbies!

gobombers

I know it's early, but looking at Rowan's schedule, you HAVE to start looking early.  Ithaca folks are looking at how if we also go undefeated we can pull that #1 seed out from under you.

It's a long season, and we're only halfway through.  Still a lot of games to be played, doesn't stop us from talking about it though!

Phil

You don't have to be Dr. Freud to recognize "self-serving" when you see it.

Thanks for alerting me to the fact that the LL gang was funnin' with me.  Your concern is, however,  ill-placed and unwanted since I've been taking care of myself for a number of years now ..... there goes your Corporal Work of Mercy for today.

Also, you are absolutely the last person who should beat me up for having a "me and Rowan against the world attitude".  Just let me or anybody else say anything negative about TCNJ and we have to suffer the oratory of Phil .... however, you do end your diatribe with your usual 2005 disclaimer of .... "you know, I've admitted that TCNJ is not a very good team this year".

To be serious for a moment (which is an impossibility with you) ..... I get on the Rowan bandwagon to compliment the team, a player or a group of players and to respond when someone attacks .... the same as you and everybody else who is a fan of any team on this board does.
So what's your point? ??? (This is a rhetorical question which does not require a response from you ...at least, I hope not!)

phil

...speaking of diatribes!!!! ;D

Seriously though, you're on to me. I'm not an altruist. I really wasn't concerned about alerting you to the fact that the LL gang was funnin' you – I just didn't want them to think yours was the prevailing attitude over here – as Union89 pointed out in his post. So yes, that would be self serving as I hate going on the defensive in other rooms to clear up your negative Karma as the NJAC ambassador.

So I shouldn't admit that TCNJ is rebuilding this year as everyone has said? If that's the case, I guess Rowan did the best they could against a tough Lion team (as opposed to a letdown as your head coach and I pointed out) and we should expect the annual, unexpected loss at Cortland, Montclair or (shudder) Kean?

Feel free to pretend this entire post was rhetorical and I'll pretend yours were dadaistic.

You've got to be kidding me! At this rate I'll be in the stands wearing a Linfield or MUC jersey by December!

ACMob

Phil, please don't drag us into this!  What the heck is a dia...??

Gbomb-- if both win out, we'll see ya @ da 'BORO!! ;)

i'd give cortland a legit shot this weekend. i would without question say rowan is the better team, but cortland, as always has a lot of talent and are dangerous. they can knock off any team at any time and have shown that in the past. i'm not going to look past cortland as i'm sure the rowan team isn't either.

as far as montclair state is concerned, let's just say i'm glad they are off ithaca's schedule. I went to the ithaca vs montclair game 2 years ago in the playoffs and that was the dirtiest nastiest worst display of sportmanship i've ever seen. but yes, they are also talented and I don't think rowan can write them off as a sure victory.

I wouldn't think that Rowan would look past Brockport on their schedule either.

Rowan should win this weekend, and I think they will, yet the only easy victory they've had so far was against Western Connecticut. They've racked up huge yardage differentials against CNU and TCNJ yet found themselves in a fourth quarter dogfight both times. Plus, the comeback and OT win against Robert Morris didn't exactly make me think Rowan was unbeatable – especially since Robert Morris also lost to St. Francis – who in turn lost to St. Peter's and LaSalle. Which would lead one to scratch their head when Rowan's head coach pointed to the OT win against Robert Morris as the reason the Profs let down against NJAC rival TCNJ in front of 5,000 fans the following week. How can you have a let down against your biggest rival after beating an average 1AA program?

That said, Rowan could easily start racking up 40+ point wins every week with the talent and experience they have. It's as if they're waiting for the wake up call. Back in '01 they won a 1 pointer against TCNJ and lost to Cortland before winning the next six games (including playoffs) by an average of 37 ppg – that is until Mr. Magoo the clock operator stopped them in Bridgewater.

It should be a very interesting game this weekend. Is Rowan an eastern juggernaut this year? And is this the best Cortland team since they joined the NJAC?

See above... like I said, self-serving or is that just sucking up ???     Should I go stand in the corner now?

By the way, if I were sure you would wear them, I buy both of them for you.

I don't know why I put forth effort to make a point when you so eloquently make them for me.

Additionally, how did you become the unofficial spokesperson/analyst for RU?  You would be much better served to worry about your Lions.

And, as I've said before, if and when RU loses and if they make the playoffs and should get eliminated, I will be one of the first to admit it as I did after the Linfield loss.  RU has nothing to prove to you or anybody.  So you can shudder all you want.  There are no teams that are unbeatable ..RU, Linfield, MUC ...none!
