23-17 Frostburg at the half.  FSU having no trouble moving the ball.

17-14 Cortland over Rowan at the half

XDragon59

Huge interception by D.J. Romano with Rowan driving deep in Cortland territory.  Red Dragons still up 17-14 in the 4th...

Cortland wins over Rowan 24-14.

Brockport beats Frostburg State 37-32 with a Touchdown pass with :33 seconds left, second game in a row they've won in the last minute...  They go to 2-0.

Blowout at Montclair, as the Red Hawks compleltly demolished Morrisville 52-0. Talk about a complete 360 for both teams in that matter.

Fischer looked much better at qb for MSU and the defense forced at least 5 turnovers (probably more).

I'm pleased to see the old Red Hawks firing away again. But complete demolition job, Morrisville played so poorly it was an embarressment to the conference, I haven;t seen a college team ever play so poorly and wihtout and heart.

Great win for Cortland today but very costly, losing QB Pitcher for the season.   I wish I could be optimistic but hard right now.  This team has heart and alot of young talent.  Defense was tremendous today.  Someone will have to step up on offense now with even more pressure on our young line.  Backup qb not as mobile.

How about the points that TCNJ is putting up?  Sleeper?

TCNJ offense is real deal.  Will not be as productive versus some of the better teams in the league, but will still be explosive.  OC has done a great job of creating the offense that fits the skill that he has.  Defense gave up 467 yds (240 in first half when first team D was still in).  Still needs to prove itself.  Will run into some issues against teams with good defenses that can get stop TCNJ's offense!

Good win for the Dragons but a costly loss.  We just cannot keep QB's healthy in the last couple of years.

Nice job on the big win for C State.  Losing Pitcher hurts but they will have somebody ready.  Unfortunately anybody can beat anybody at any any given day in the NJAC.
Taste It!

At what point in the game did Pitcher get injured? Tough break. Good luck the reest of the season. I'm sure Cortland will rally around this.
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Rowan played with the backup yesterday.  Starting QB has an ankle injury.  I think this year might be like the WIAC.  The team that survives is the team that is less beaten up during the season.  The NJAC is far from decided.

Pitcher went out with about 7 or 8 minutes left in game.  Local kid, high school standout, transfer from Colgate, excellent QB, great leader, waited his time.  heartbreaking story for his local fans of which there are many including yours truly.

Montclair did indeed blowout Morrisville on Saturday !!

Pre-game scoop was that Boysen would be getting some time this week, depending on how Fischer was playing. Well Boysen did get some time but it was wel into the game  So it didn't  factor in to the scheme of things.   Here's my report card summary

Fischer played well, first time he looked poised since last year.
Special Teams get an A+ for their effort.
Defense played great, all round intensity.
Offense played well against the pass rush, giving Fischer the time he needed to throw the ball.
Offensive played so-so on the run game. I have always stated that the O-line has to step-up and open holes for the backs for the offense to be successful, in my opinion they still need to do that.

All around grade this week  B+

Heartbreaking when any kid who puts in the time all players do, goes down for a season and especially a senior.  Pitcher will be missed no doubt.  He was clearly an outstanding athlete and seemed to be shaping up to be a great team leader too.  Something tells me he will still do that...it's just in his blood!

Any info on his replacement?  If I know coach Mac he's got some talent sitting in the wings but don't know anything about them.

JT did the Rowan QB (never can spell his name so dlip does not even try) get hurt on SAt or before? Did he not play Saturday? dlip did not see CState beating the Profs and was very surprised that they won. This could possibly explain why. Or of course CState, even though young, is just a better team.
