Fearless Predictions  ;D

Rowan 24 Cortland 20
Western Conn 37 New Jersey 28
Montclair 16 William Paterson 3
Kean 23 Seton Hill 7
Salisbury 50 Buffalo State 24
Del Valley 35 Abright 20

I'll probably be wrong about the first game.

Any Montclair or Willy P. fans want to comment on the game this week? I know I ask this every week, so why shouldn't this week be any different. ;D

As far as the Rowan - Cortland Game. Rowan : watch out for Cortlands #55 on the O line, he really likes to hold. Cortland : all I heard was that your QB has not been playing well. Boy did he wake-up against Montclair !!!  Good luck to both teams.

GREAT WEEKEND FOR THE NJAC!!
Interested how TCNJ fares against West Conn.-- I'll go with Phil's boys!!

Dave, should be good game!  Willy P. looks like they're improving??

And DA GAME OF THE WEEK!!  Weather is underrated unless its gale force winds and frozen crap!!  Cortland has a very good opportunity this Sat. to make a statement within the NJAC.  Of course, I got Rowan on top, but turnovers and capitalizing on them will decide this game.  Cortland has homefield--  this is what it's all about.  RU will be READY!!  DRAGONS BEWARE!!!

RU--  let's talk about football!!    :)

I'd be pleasantly surprised if TCNJ could pull this game out on the road. With Schoonover done for the season, TCNJ won't be a threat to run the ball – which leaves relying on the passing game and a weak offensive line on a windy day. Not a great combination. Last year Joe DeMeglio passed for almost 350 yards against a TCNJ team that was vastly better than this one. The Lions will have to work some magic in the turnover department to pull this one out. On the other hand, judging by their scores, I don't think Westconn has made any vast improvements on defense since last season.

JT,

Great article on Sam Mills in around the region. Well done !!! Thanks for the pushing for the name of Sprague Field to "Sam Mills Field."

I heard the same thing ... the Profs are pumped and looking forward to this game.

Question is ..... will they turn them loose to play?

Be creative on offense, throw on 1st or 2nd down, spread the ball around, an aggressive defense, heavy pressure on the QB, stop the run and get Joey D a new pair of turf shoes.  Sounds easy doesn't it?

This should be a good game.  I really don't think that the weather will play a major role unless, as you say, its a monsoon.  The RU O line has to have a good day and give Orihel some time to throw.

Mistakes on either side could be costly in a rivalry game like this.

Hello fellow football fans, I'm new to the post pattern thing. But as an NJAC fan i am constantly checking up on what is the latest news that is being said about the teams as well as the players. Anyway just wanted to give a shout to you all. Now down to this week

MSU vs. Willy P : i guess we can expect another choke job by the Pioneers, what they had about 3 chances to punch it in last week and failed, and not to mention on one of those trips down to the goal line MIGHTY MIELLIO decided to pass all 4 downs, not even giving a back one chance to pound it in is beyond me. Willy P has no offense, but i do expect the D to keep them in it but other than that this one is a no brainer......MSU takes it easy

RU vs. CORTLAND : I don't know folks, Orihel is great and so is his wide out Wright, but this Red Drargon defense looks real tough. Not to mention the running game, they have to backs over 300 yards. To me i think this is going to be a hard nose, ground and poud game, Low scoring and it might be decided late in the 4th. But i am going to take Cortland by 6.

TCNJ vs. West Conn: this is an Easy one, TCNJ has no anwser Dimeglio, West Conn Wins big.

GIve me some Feed back Fella's, and GO PIONEERS

Cortland-Rowan can be heard locally in Cortland and in the adjoining areas on Newstalk 920AM WKRT. However, for those of you not in Central NY, the game broadcast will be simulcast on Broadcast Monsters.

Or, if you live in Glassboro or in a small radius by Rowan University you can hear the game on WGLS 89.7FM (Rowan student station) or on their webcast at the following link.

PHIL  / ACMOB,
it gets more interesting this week for the Lions... the back-up tight end (Rella) & the long & short snapper (Marrone) are now both gone for the season...they have already had 6 or 7 punts blocked this season...remember as kids we used to play touch football & center the ball back to the qb side- saddle...well   here we go !!!..... Feaster (remember him, he qb'd south river to a sectional tittle a few years ago) well he's a running back now .... he will be studying the play book on the bus ride , so that Struble doesn't have to roll out & run the ball every play !!!... good thing these kids strength is studying !!
The defense has continued to improve... fighting off last saturdays blatent "lets make sure the home team wins this homecoming game" 4th quarter screw job calls have given them more confidence...if they can mount any type of offense ( against a bad w-conn d) & keep the italian bomber off the field & then cause some turnovers, they should keep this game close....yup it sounds crazy that a Lions team playing w/ 3rd & 4th stringers could still pull this off, but i will not be surprised...to be truthfull w you guys ...they expect to win

cstater

cortland finally gets some pay back this year! they win on a big play in over time!!

Dave,

Thanks for the kind words re: Sam Mills article.  I tried to do Mills justice.  It was unfortunate that the weather was so bad.

An organized push to rename the stadium might have an affect.  The big sticking point would be that Sprague has a big legacy as the first Pres.  Also the Mills family has to give their blessing.

Changing the name would be a lock, if Sam gets in the Pro HOF.  However, it would be a much classier move to rename the stadium before Sam gets in.

Just a little non-football related side note.  The NJCU womens volleyball team has clinched the first ever NJAC regular season championship in any womens sport at NJCU with a victory over WPU yesterday, they are undefeated in NJAC play with one game left against Kean.  They are the top seed in the NJAC tournament and get a first round bye.

dpadavona,

If you are going to the game this Sat and happen to get any Rowan shots, I'd appreciate it if you can send me some pics.

Gonna be listening on WGLS.

It feels weird to be posting in the first person.  Everyone on the LL board posts in the third person.  Spent the day over there yesterday.
