Eric Hajnos is one of the best wide receivers to suit up for Cortland in the last decade.  He is a game breaker, with great hands.  As John mentioned, Dom Sair is the younger brother of Stef Sair.

Dom started out as a linebacker at another school.  He transferred to SUNY Cortland as a sophomore and was converted to fullback.  This season he was given some carries out of the fullback spot, and also out of a single back formation, and he did well on his few rushes.  With the way the running game was struggling, Dom was given the opportunity to shift to tailback.  He obviously has been the best choice by far, and would have benefited from starting there all along.

He's so strong.  Very commonly drags tacklers for extra yards.  His inexperience as a ball carrier showed early when he had some problems with holding onto the football.  He has improved markedly there too.

Overall a very good season for Cortland.  It was already mentioned regarding the QB's they lost, and how the entire starting OL graduated in 2008.  One thing I haven't seen written about much is how they lost LB Brian Haas to injury before camp opened, and that kid was a helluva linebacker.  Coach of the Year awards tend to go to teams which win championships.  But I think a compelling argument can be made for Dan MacNeill and his staff in 2009.

I don't know how we'll match up with SJ Fisher.  I watched them destroy Ithaca on TV, and they looked as talented as any team in Eastern Region in 2009.  I hope both teams bring the motivation, and we have one last great show for the fans.

I asked because those two guys stood out the most to me watching the Jug.  They do have 3/4 guys in the front 7 that can cause some havoc.  I really think it's going to come down to those guys in the Cortland front 7 vs the SJF O-line.  If the SJF O-line comes out and plays their game SJF runs away with it in the 2nd half.  If Cortland's guys up front stuff the run and force SJF to throw it 40 times the Cardinals will be in trouble.

It's not SJF's game to just throw it around, they need to run the ball for the offense to be effective.  Bailey has a big time arm but his strength is play action passes and bootlegs.

Is there a third brother waiting in the wings? I know in college hockey (what I cover now) it seems like everyone has one or two brothers.

Those two statements combined with Saturday's result seem to contradict each other....

But of course, anyone who watched Fisher kill Ithaca and then lose to Alfred probably would have thought the Bombers had no shot against the Saxons. So you gotta be careful.

It's amazing, the NJAC has a team in the NCAA'S and all the talk is about Cortland and the Up-State Football teams. I thought there would be more talk, but that's for another year I guess. I love the attitude of all the Up-State posters who have come to the board. I trying to say I'm jealous. Very little to no talk about Maine and Montclair. The OAC pick-em has most people taking Montclair giving 23.5. I'm the biggest Montclair homer out there and I took Main with the 23.5. If we win, we have the pleasure to go to Alliance. If we make it I'll be there. ;)
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

I know I'll be in the lot early Saturday morning to cheer on the Red Hawks !! When they win I won't be able to make the next game, I'll have to listen on the Internet.
Rams, I'll see ya Saturday and I'll make sure I say hello.

NJAC coaches exclude Lions from post-season party

Now, my slight bias toward TCNJ (more familiarity than favor) trapped me into surprise when these awards came out. But for the top award-winners, there's really not a whole lot of arguing.

Chunn was the conference's only 1,000-yard rusher, so it seems fair he's its top offensive performer. Looking back at the numbers, though, it's hard to choose either him or Wilczynski over the other. Both of them did work in 2009.

Don't know how I dropped the ball on the Defensive Player of the Year, but that pick shouldn't astound, either.

If anyone's got thoughts, throw them out and about.

It was a tough year for TCNJ. I'm sure they will get things together next year, but 4-6 hurts. You can knit pick the selections when you are 4-6. That being said, good luck next year.

OK Red Hawks it's time to go dancing tomorrow. Make a statement. Destiny is in your hands. Make it happen, I know you can. ;)

Great game today for the Red Hawks, defense as usual played very well and the offense looked pretty good too. Hats off to MSU for putting a ton of players on the all conference team and to Coach 'G' as coach of the year. Next step Ohio, gonna be a tough game for us,against MUC  but best of luck to the boys, nobody thought we'd get this far.
Gotta give props to the Maine-Maritime fullback, that kid is a bull. :-*

Sorry to miss the game today. My daughter had a digetal Sonagram scheduled for today at 2:00PM. I didn't say anything but I booked my hotel in N.Canton like JT advised. I did it yesterday. I watched the first half on Stats, 28-7 and we gave up a TD with 38 seconds left. 28-14. After the sonagram we went to Hooters and there were a few cheerleaders and parents there. They told me the score was 38-22. As catchball said the D played well and Fisher appeared to have a good game. I heard there was a bunch of xtra PT in the 4th. I would have loved to see this bull from ME run. Congratulations to the entire Montclair team. You are going to play the best next week. Prepare well and do some damage.

As a former player and fan, it is a site to see!!! All of the kids at MSU are playing together as a team, a complete team with a positive swagger that they belong here and can win. Hats off to Maine Maritime, congrats on a good season. I am happy for the coaches, Coach Giancola, is as good a man as he is a coach, he along with the rest of the staff deserve this!!! As far as next week goes, find a way to find a way guys!! Very simple, you want the title you gotta fight the champ, what to we do? we "Keep Pounding"!!!

See you in Ohio!!
